That's true.
But the direction and editing did mess up MK's reaction for two reasons:
1. Meerab behosh for a whole day should elicit a strong reaction from MK.
2. In Maryam's room scene, when he overhears Meerab's defence, there's a repetition of his reaction. Again. It wasn't anything new that wasn't already said in Waqas's scene.
This scene by scene, non-linear shooting must have caused the confusion. Add inefficient editing to the mix, and we have the confusing presentation.
Because she still had a part to play in the elopement his disappointment doesn't suddenly disappear just because she tried till the last minute. She still accompanied Maryam to the gates instead of calling for her husband. His reaction is repeating because he is looking for reasons to forgive her, but can't because she is not innocent. Every time he hears the elopement talk it makes his blood boil, he relives that moment he begs her not to do anything, but she does. That is why when Waqas was grilling Maryam on the elopement issue, he couldn't take it anymore, he didn't want to know how many times his wife made this mistake, once was bad enough.
Murtu knows Meerab being behosh over a self righteous act is just as possible as Witch being human. Waqas can add tadka for the rest but can't fool Murtasim, Meerab is not bechari types, he is the bechara. Meerab is stronger emotionally than he is, he knows this about her and doesn't need to worry about her emotional health.
