Seeing the thumbnail, my first reaction was, ohh is he Madhvan? Then I started listening to it and the tune sounded familiar! 🤗

I have a memory associated with such south songs with tunes same as their Hindi counterparts (original though in most of the cases, I believe). During initial years of job once I had to move to Hyderabad for few months, when I was expecting and was willing to follow it the least. For obvious reasons I found everything uninteresting including the songs that played on FM radio stations. But then I came across many such songs whose tunes resembled to Hindi songs I knew before, and the familiar and homely feel they gave was so wonderful ❤️

Sharing one such Marathi song from movie Sairat, which Dhadak was based on.

Sairat songs are soooo good! ⭐️

Thanks for sharing, Rashmi! ❤️

Ikwym about familiar songs - when movies get remade &/or the songs do with just the lyrics in a different language. I guess we all go with what's familiar for us and what resonates more.

I have watched Sairat but not Dhadak. Did this song make it to that one? I think Ajay-Atul were the MDs for that one too, right?

The best part of Ajay-Atul music is it is sooo marath-moli, every tune we hear feels so familiar, at home, yet very different and new.

Mauli being yet another gem.

I also love that people actually give them all the attention they deserve! Truly hardworking lads! ❤️

Have you read the comments on Natrang's songs youtube links? It's amazing how people not just across India, but many other countries connect to those songs. Music truly has a universal language of it's own ⭐️

I guess Ajay Atul made few songs for Dhadak, but not all.

This song was in Dhadak too. The lyrics was 'Pehli baar'.

Mi Raat takli from Jait re Jait, music by Pt. Hridayanath Mangeshkar, lyrics by N.D. Mahanor, sung by Lata Mangeshkar. I love this song, I've been hearing this since my childhood and I always associate Smita Patil, who's one of my favorite actresses, with it.

all of them.. the entrie track including BG score is same as Sairaat, they didn't change anything other than translating the lyrics in Hindi.

A lot of people including me wasn't happy with the Hindi version, just doesn't sound right after listening to Marathi one but the way Hindi audience loved it, made it worth the translation. It sort of gave them a big break in Hindi industry as well.

Btw, Abhi Mujh Mein Kahin is also by Ajay-Atul. Including some other songs in Agneepath, PK, Zero, etc

Zingaat in Hindi is just 😭🙈

The Dhadak title track is the only saving grace from the otherwise copied album.

Sairat >>>>>

Another talented duo in the industry are Sachin-Jigar. They are Indian music composer, singer, music producer, music director and arrangers, consisting of Sachin Sanghvi and Jigar Saraiya. They compose for Hindi and Gujarati language films. Before working independently as music directors, they served as orchestrators for Pritam. One of my favourite albums from them was for Love Ni Bhavai ✨️

Song: Per vechalum vekkama ponalum mallivasam

Film: Micheal Madana Kama Rajan (1990)

Music: Ilaiya Raja

Lyrics: Vaali

Singers: Malaysia Vasudevan & S. Janaki

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pDmn7JQ0ISY

MMKR is simply my absolute favorite movie to rewatch. With Kamal playing 4 identical brothers (separated at birth), the absolute madcap comedy that ensues has me clutching my tummy in agony from laughing.

This song is a perfect example of how well Ilaiya Raja tweaks his tune to match the shenanigans happening on screen, the choreography is so well done - the main couple Raju (one of Kamal's avatars) with Khushbu completely oblivious to the happenings in the background, so much that one point Khusbhu wonders how he changed clothes so quickly (she mistook Kameshwaran - another Kamal Avatar for her lover, Raju 🤣). Meanwhile, you have the crook, Michael (in the suit with the broken tooth 😆), trying to knock out Raju hoping to take his place as the millionaire Madan (another Kamal avatar who the bad guys have tied up 🤣), unaware that Raju is himself an impersonator whom Madan has appointed to take his place. Kameshwaran (in the grey outfit), meanwhile has been brought in by Avinasi (Nagesh) in the hopes of swindling his employer, Madan, hoping to take advantage of their resemblance. 🤣

This movie is complete and utter chaos - and Kamal plays all 4 parts with so much conviction that you have no trouble accepting 4 different personas. Especially Kameshwaran as the Palaghat cook. OMG, his accent has me dying of laughter 🤣.

Why can't such comedies be made anymore?

Anyways, I posted this song because of how entertaining it is to watch, more than to listen. The visuals are so entertaining and hilarious. 🤣
