What I absolutely love about this movie as a whole is that it showcases how first impression is never the last impression ❤️

I was talking about the first scene in the movie bubba, where they all go to her house and his only opinion on Ashwini is that she is boring. Then the whole train journey makes him reassess how an independent controlled event is not enough to judge a person on a whole. He assumes she is not his soulmate type and then comes to realise that she is exactly what he was looking for, except he was too quick to close the chapter.

This is one of Sridevi's rarest songs, yet it was a huge hit!

Most significantly, no one instructed her on how to perform for this song. She instantly dramatised in her own style for this song, and the old woman, who was one of the most famous actors of the time, was astounded to witness this young girl dancing in such a way. This is the same actress that appeared in the incredibly successful song Kuhu..kuhu bole...

She is attempting to explain to her grandma how a telephone works, rings, and connects people from all over the world.

Boochadu means a scary ghost, is a terrifying guy that enjoys scaring children!! Before we were born, a child's perspective on a telephone!!

Song: Bhoochadamma Boochadu

Singer: P Susheela

Lyrics: Arudra

Music: KV Mahadevan

Release: 23 November 1972

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this song and scene! Finally tired of being tied down by patriarchy, they break all their barriers. The same Garba they are not 'ALLOWED' to do becomes their voice of rebellion. They refuse to back down. And the Goddess also blesses them with rain in the Rann. They are finally FREE ❤️

And the other songs in this movie are amazing too in showing the beautiful culture and their transition from suppressed women who are simply existing, to confident women

Even so young, Sridevi performs with so much confidence and panache! Amazing. Makes me think she was born to perform & entertain, it was in her DNA

Seeing the thumbnail, my first reaction was, ohh is he Madhvan? Then I started listening to it and the tune sounded familiar! 🤗

I have a memory associated with such south songs with tunes same as their Hindi counterparts (original though in most of the cases, I believe). During initial years of job once I had to move to Hyderabad for few months, when I was expecting and was willing to follow it the least. For obvious reasons I found everything uninteresting including the songs that played on FM radio stations. But then I came across many such songs whose tunes resembled to Hindi songs I knew before, and the familiar and homely feel they gave was so wonderful ❤️

Sharing one such Marathi song from movie Sairat, which Dhadak was based on.
