Promo doing damage is a fact. And this is an objective view beyond fan wars. And the drop has nothing whatsoever to do with either Harshad or Satya. It's all their wrong strategy on how & when Satya was introduced.
TRP does drop due to IPL for all shows...but for Ghum, the drop is steeper (2.7 to 2.0)...more than the anticipated drop. In comparison, Maa dropped by 0.2, Relationship dropped by 0.3, Stores dropped by 0.2 etc.
It is a lot of factors put together actually. Viewers fatigue - people are bored of seeing yet another triangle after watching one for 8 months. V-P-S worked because it had intrigue - a curiosity factor of how the separated family with will unite given the magnitude of complexities in their lives...and ofcourse the drama that the triangle brought.
SaiYa marriage came out of nowhere - it doesn't gel with the current flow of the story. It looks forced....like a clear attempt to stretch the story (that's how it will be perceived). And the reason for SaiYa marriage wasn't convincing - looks like a last minute scrambling of ideas.
Satya should have been brought way before & given a good buildup for the TRP audience to get a connect, get familiar with him... before bringing SaiYa marriage. You got to find ways to sell your product! It is the rush into SaiYa wedding before even establishing the new entries that caused the drop. People were fine with Pakhi because she has been a familiar figure for two years.
Pakhi not getting her dues after so long can also be the reason.
Does it mean TRP will never rise now that SaiYa are married? No...after the initial shock & rejection, TRP will rise if writers do a good job..get dramatic tracks...hook viewers' interest...develop Satya & Adhikaris strongly. Let's see what they do.
