You are right Ab did not disclose why he wanted to marry only after surgery.

Arohi already knew Abhir was Abhimanyu’s son but she didn’t know that Abhi already knew and that was the reason for him to change the date to after surgery.

She found out that he knows only later when Ab and AA confronted each other and both sisters were watching.
