9.09 pm Shami's new-ball spell feels like forever ago but he was the story of the innings taking four wickets inside of three overs, ending with 4 for 11 in four, to put Delhi in a massive hole which they struggled mightily to dig out of. The four wickets now give him 17 on the season and he takes control of the IPL Purple Cap. But Aman Hakim Khan's maiden IPL fifty has given them a fighting chance. DC have done well to recover from dire straits but they are still well below par on a track which is decent to bat on. What an absolute dream spell we have witnessed from Shami! His exhibition of top class swing bowling broke the backbone of DC in the powerplay itself. It all started with Salt’s downfall for a golden duck. Warner was sold down the river by Garg but the rest of the batters were all at sea against Shami’s moving balls. That led to DC reeling at 23/5 within the powerplay. When you are in such a precarious position, it hits you psychologically. Axar and Aman started the rebuilding work but they had to play cautiously.
