19/5: VISWAMOHINI;narad receives HARIMUKH

1^st part B

Narad is thinking:

A man who will have her can win any battles, fight any fears, she is most coveted woman and finally I met someone for whom I can leave my oath of BRAHMACHARYA and start a family.

But to win this lady, I must be strong , beautiful , I must have manhood, I must be a MAN.

Thinking all these to himself, Narad crosses he boundary of Vaikunth and enters his LORD'S abode.

There he stats his need and prays the lord to help him. With a mischievous smile in his face, the lord says:

But you promised to be an unmarried man through out your life

N: yes, but me lord, I now want to be a family man. I desperately seek the hands of Viswamohini for marriage and you can only help me, please grant me your HARI MUKH

L: think again narad!

N: I have done thinking, please my lord this is the only thing that can save me, I am your servant, grant me HARIMUKH.

L: I always look for your best intensions, fine so be it

He holds his hand out and transforms Narad 's face into that of a monkey.

Narad unknowingly chose a most dangerous boon. LORD resides everywhere, be it within living beings or within an object, so he grants him his face : the face of a monkey, monekey is also punned as HARI

However narad is under the illusion that he looks just like his mighty lord and takes leave of his master.

2^nd part: Monkey face emerges

A proud Narad emerges out of Vaikunth, all the apsaras watch him , they r shocked at his drastic change in appearance.

Narad takes it as appreciation and he starts making vain antiques.teh ladies are highly amused at this and they love. Narad thinks its appreciation.

Then narad faces devraj Indra and his party of gods, all of them are horrified at such a change, narad takes it for amazement.

N : I am not allured by your mare post of king of gods. Now I am going for Vaikunth nagari, to vie for princess Viswamohini, are you staring at my beautiful face? You better appreciate it, it's a face of shree hari himself.

3^rd part: Viswamohini waits to garland shree hari

Narad enters the SWAYAMBAR SAVA of princess Viswamohini, boasting a strutting like a peacock.

The kings look at his face and start rolling with laughter. Narad thinks they r jealous. The kings present try to taunt him, but Narad is undaunted in speech and he gives them fitting answers. Then the arrival of the king and queen is announced.

The royal couple enter and greet all the kings present. The queen cannot control her laughter at seeing the monkey face of narad. She laughs and whispers the king:

That monkey face came here with is tambura thinking he will view for my beloved daughter. Anyways they pass narad and go bye.

N: maybe the king does not recognize me for my changed appearance. No problem, the princess will garland me.

The princess arrives with VARMALA. She goes to each of the king and rejects them. At last she comes to narad. Smirking, she passes him bye.

Narad , fully confidant he was the chosen one , had already lowered his head to receive the VARMAlA. So he is naturally shocked and angry at seeing the princess laughing at him. The princess then stands facing the door, dejected and depressed.

Suddenly her face lights up.

Standing in the doorway, waiting to be garlanded is none other than lord shree Hari himself.

There's an interesting pun on the word Hari.
In Sanskrit, Hari can mean Vishnuji, lion or monkey!
So when Narad asked for Harimukh, Vishnuji fulfilled Narad's request by giving him a monkey-face!

anyways, not only the three you named but actually HARI means:

1)water,

2)lotus

3) frog

4)snake

also the literal meaning of 'Hari' is green which is associated with the body color which is the color of rain cloud with a bluish-green tinge.
