I know right! I also hate that Jalal has been shown- in some places- as someone who is heavily influenced by his emotions while taking Decisions. Do you guys remember the scene where there is this Hindu Family that refuses to change their religion? He sentences the mother and father to prison until their Son asks,
"Mere liye kya aadesh hai aapka?"
Suddenly Jalal is reminded of his own past and he forgives the whole family.
Similarly, during the Sujamal track?- there is this couple that comes for justice and the woman is said to be in love with someone who is not her husband and Jalal sees himself and Jodha in place of the couple.
('Badzaaat!'- He shouts in the Diwan-e-Aam, not being able to help but see his own relationship with Jodha playing out so clearly in front of him)
I understand that Akbar is human but there was A charm in his coldness. In the Jallad-e-Shahenshah reputation of his...Jalal is said to not have a Heart and yet I felt in many places, he took decisions from his Heart alone and that is not a good Characteristic in a King.
Also, maybe it's just me...but Jodha cries a LOT. Like a Lot. Even the Marium Makani in the show has a dialogue in which she fondly says,
"Baat baat par tumhare yeh aansu hume pasand nahi hai."
Jodha cries...a ridiculous amount.
I also agree with Shamacatty, I hate the part of the show where Jodha was running about all teary-eyed and evasive while Jalal was trying to apologise to her after the Sujamal Misunderstanding- bet if Jalal ever did that he would be called arrogant and cruel.
Hell, maturity is when Someone apologises and then you answer clearly- whether you accept their apology or not. That's queenly.
And then there is Ekta's Jodha...
The only time when I genuinely like Ekta's Jodha is during the trip to Salim Chishti's dargah with Jalal, after Benazir track.
"Ae toh tanne seth ji bolein, mai tanne ke bolu?"
I love her playful charm and her generosity in those episodes.
