Khushi was once an impish child. A free spirit. So good to see her like that.

She spotted her prince already.

She believes herself to be not up to mark for his lifestyle? She may have heard things. People talking. But she believes that about herself?

Shyam pushed the envelope. The threat propelled the actions that followed. Was there no other way to ensure her safety?

Good to see Akash and Payal standing by their friends at their time of need. They can't do much except be there to support them as things unfold.

I was smiling and grinning as I read 15 year old Khushi antics. Be it her being upside down with her two braids swinging or she perched up on a tree watching Arnav draw water from a well.

as always the description are beautiful, vivid and detailed. This and her joining Ratna for her weekly prayers solidifies our impression of her being cheerful, energetic and simply being a good and happy person.

It was lovely to know that her parents did not want to stop her higher education and her marriage to Arnav was because of circumstances. So did she get a chance to complete her college ?I hope she did.

So Ratna felt that Khushi with her personality and demeanor may help Arnav dour and difficult life in Mumbai. They would make a good life partner. A good life story. Guess sometimes what is right in one stage of our life is not later.

Anyway liked how you have Payal reaching out to Khushi and Akash is there for Arnav. Friends of a couple getting divorce tend to take sides.

Grief. We know there are stages of loss when a dear one dies. Divorce is similar, it is death of a relationship. Khushi first went through disbelief, shock, then anger and finally tears and a breakdown . Some of it will repeat itself.

When a couple relationship is reduced just to responsibility and "taking care of" it is the end of it.

Loved how you gave a glimpse of Khushi past and her personality

Arnav is conflicted and unhappy. Was he pushed into this? Is there someone forcing his hand? Shyam maybe?

We have to keep the what ifs going. Makes it easier to wait for the chapters.

A very emotional story. I hope khushi is able to slowly get her happiness back.

Arnav is going to regret this soon

The young Khushi and her enthusiasm, her charm, her cuteness made me wonder who knew one day she will be throwing a vase at the frustration of how her life has changed into.

“Oh not at all!” Khushi said, her voice echoing in the sanctum. “She teases me with things and takes them away.”

This line really made me weep for Khushi. Why did Devi Maiyya take away her love from her? There is a saying in Kannada which roughly translates to "The nivala (morsel of food) which came to the hand never reached the mouth"

Khushi's life has become like that now.

And my guess about the NGO was right. It takes courage to listen to people's problems and give them support, but when the situation arises in their own life, only then one can realise the gravity of the pain.

Did Khushi feel that she is a dehati and Arnav probably deserved someone like Lavanaya as his wife? Did Arnav's behaviour in anyway indicate that over years?

Very nice update writerji.

PS: Oh bhai, ab yeh Shyam koun hai and will he again appear in this story?

I also have the same felling, may be there is some external force, may be he is protecting her from that or may be some health issue. The last line "so much for that one promise" and the tear made me feel that very strongly.

Basically I am holding on to every minute possibility to find some silver lining in the murky reality.

What Khushi is going through, no one deserves it. Definitely not a person like Khushi, who is sweet, graceful and sensible who goes out of her way to bring happiness in others' lives.

Khushi and her sweet mango escapade reminded me of our own raw mango escapade when we were 16 years old. This happened in front of our college but at my friend's neighbour's backyard. When we were happily climbing on to the lower branches and plucking mangoes, our college principal along with some of the lecturers has decided to inspect the terrace. They can't do anything to us. They don't even know whose house it was. A lady lecturer who thinks she is the caretaker of the whole college, scolded us saying we behaved like monkeys. We did not care. The scolding was nothing in front of the sour mango pieces coated with chilli powder and salt.

Thank you for bringing out those memories.

Khushi first saw Ratna and Arnav at the time of Anjali's wedding. 5 years later she found herself marrying that sweet Ratna Kaki's laad governer/rajkumar son. 10 years later he did not remain as either but, turned in to a shaitan who separated himself from her, without even giving her proper reasons or working on the marriage they both cherished for so long, so we believe.

Khushi's Devi mayya can't fail Khushi forever. She has to support Khushi somewhere at some point in her life.

The things which are stopping me from totally blasting Aranv for cheating Khushi with Lavanya are,

  • Though he himself was forced into the marriage (the only issues for him were they both were young especially the bride and he wasn't in a position to live up to her expectations if she had any big expectations from him), he asked Khushi if she was forced into this marriage after telling her what he had in his mind. He even offered to take the blame and say no, if she doesn't want to get married to him.
  • Khushi was the first person he wanted to share the most deserving, well earned and timely promotion news with. Within a month of marriage she made that place in his heart.
  • Once he understood her ways of managing finances, he happily agreed to let her handle them.
  • Aakash was very angry on Arnav for thinking about divorce, but when Arnav drove to his place on his 10th wedding anniversary night and admitted that he did the deed with Lavanya, instead of shouting at him and closing the door on his face, Akash let him in, as if that had some significance but not a reason to throw Arnav out of his house.
  • Aakash is still there and offering his support. Payal is also there and offering her support to Khushi.
  • Khushi tried to work on the marriage when it was falling apart. What were the issues she was working on? How did Arnav respond to them?
  • And there are other things like not having kids, how far Lavanya went to get what she wanted and now the Shyam angle. He barged into Buaji's house and demanded for Khushi's hand in marriage and Buaji tricked him. Did he stay quiet or did he do something then or did he do something now? or now that Khushi is moving back to Lucknow, will he do something in the future?

Until I know the answers for all of them and some more, I will keep the judgement to myself.

Disclaimer: I am a firm believer in "condemn the actions, not the person".

Cheers..
