He hasn't, i understand why she can't trust him but the question of respect remains unanswerable. This was kind of a question on his character and no one took it seriously but when he would show the same distrust then he would be labelled as toxic and his love as fake. Like you said, we are not dreaming about their fairy tale, jahan meerab pagal hojaye murtu ky liye but at least he deserves respect
