KMK always had something for her which he probably kept lid on it as he knows, she won’t be his and all that arrogance and piss off attitude was his cover but seeing her breaking down after truth he just couldn’t handle it anymore and everything just came out ! That’s why him falling was sudden on screen but it was infact natural for him ! This makes a lot sense to me.. he must of had some feelings for her.. hidden deep inside..

And she is doing exactly what you wrote.. and im sure her confession will come out like this.. when he snaps, she will finally realize.. because technically she is already in love but she is too stubborn to admit it.. so the only way she will admit it is if she thinks she is losing him..
