There's a BTS where haya is in walimà look (similar to meerab's reception look). She has the kaandani ring on her hand which meerab got in her wedding.

I’m going to repost my post from DT2 when I was the only one clamoring about how Meerab must’ve been Murtasim’s childhood love. I figure they’re lots of new viewers since then and this would be a fun discussion to have rather than wondering about separation etc. here are my supportive points for the theory not in order of events

“I feel even more strongly now that Murtasim has always loved Meerab from childhood/adolescence.

The way he checks her out through the mirror during the tea scene. Seemed like he had the hots for her already. He sighs loudly—seems like a sigh laden with longing.

is fixated on Meerab during cake cutting. Has an intense stare (although at one point he does look at his watch as if it’s getting late)

after the accident and in the hospital, Murtasim is too concerned about Meerab’s hand

Murtasim is always in a bad mood when Meerab visits. She ruffles his feathers in multiple ways. He cannot be indifferent.

on their wedding night, Meerab says “tumhari dil ki murad puri ho hi jati hai”

duting chain scene he says “tum bhi to mere heat agayi ho”

at bday party, “ise tum batati ho ya mein bataoo? TumHari wajah se chup hoon” then dragging her away like a jealous boyfriend

calling her and asking her “kaha ho tum” when he was going to pick her up on her bday. Too much Haq for baba ke dost ki beti

“meri sari fikre tum se judi hain” on terrace

he tells ma begum his only reason for refusing the marriage is that Meerab is not happy

repeatedly says Meerab is rude blah blah, not part of this family. This must be a defense mechanism

he probably put a lid on his feelings because he knew she’d be a bad match given his position as a feudal family’s head until the situation turned out to be how it did.

finally Murtasim was happy and relieved when Meerab said yes at the Nikah. Like he was fulfilled despite the non intimacy cause. That has to stem

Let alone haya actions, he said he sees her as sister, after saying that how can he even entertain the idea of marrying her.

You are right . I don’t understand how they will justify it . It’s horribly wrong , no two ways abt it .
