This is when Merub utters the tum bhi line (murtasim tum...tum bhi to mujh se mohabbat ka daawa karta ho...mujhe se itni mohabbat karte ho ke mere liye jaan dedo?).
You see that Murtasim is not smiling this time - he looks stony and stoic.
It is the same question as before but Murtasim's demeanor is now totally different. Why is that? Like you said, Merub was not thinking of R but the tum bhi line made Murtasim assume he is being compared to R.
