Meerab has decided this marriage is to keep (she wasn’t sure initially but now I conclude she has reached that decision based on her conversation with Rohail where she accepts him as husband) and, therefore, now understands that ultimately they will end up consummating the marriage whether it’s in days, weeks or few months. She has accepted the inevitability, in my IMO. Yet, she is not ready to fully pull the trigger all the way. She probably had some sufi ideas about love/Ishq (re Ghalib talk) and is still coming to terms with her ideals vs. reality. Or maybe buying time to see if her reality can turn into her ideal (she looks Murtasim up and down when she says aajkal ishq kaun karta hai- it’s like she’s encouraging/challenging him to love her madly/be in ishq).

In the meanwhile, because she has accepted the inevitability of sex with Murtasim, she’s enjoying the tension and wants to tease him all she can. She knows their celibacy is ending soon and she’s enjoying the slow ride and string-pulling while she can.
