That is why I feel the channel must be held accountable - because they decide what airs & doesn't air on the channel. And they are a big corporate entity - changing a scene or a small part of the plot isn't going to affect them unlike the producers.

On the other hand, PH & creatives are under pressure from channel to give TRPs, write dramatic plots etc ..and that often ends up in such toxic content.

Theres a fine line between showing something wrong and glorifying it. Many movies have shown male chauvinism, entitlement, toxic male machismo. But only some movies like Kabir Singh got targeted for it. Why? Because in Kabir Singh they glorified it. They made it seem like its ok or even cool. Thats why it drew flak and polarized opinion.

Many others that simply showed that these things happen, these things exist - they didn't invite any scrutiny.

Because reel imitates real. Theres also no harm in exaggerating and dramatizing. Theres no harm in illogical stuff. But when they tread the thin line and start justifying nonsense they show- thats not ok.

They can show crimes but they cannot condone it and say criminal is actually mahaan, bechari, yashoda/devki etc.

Ghkkpm narrative is always celebrating the people who abuse as being good at heart, sacrificing, mahaan. Whether it was BK, Ninad, omi or V and P.

They do know how to show a good redemption like JM too. They called him out as a criminal and then also made him turn a new leaf. But for the main recurring characters, no justice. Nothing. they are bring condoned for crimes.

Is the episode so boring that it made you discussing about the complaint?

You know during surrogacy, I read the whole surrogacy act, I read BCCC, IBF the whole TV guidelines. This is why I kept saying that only surrogacy ke liye audience can fight. They messed up badly. But then they showed that episode where Sai is explaining surrogacy to mohalla ladies. That was their way to address the issue.

IPS wala point was waste. Many policemen in real life commit crimes themselves.🤪Surrogacy law was explained by Sai - so I was always doubtful if BCCC will consider it.

But I still feel we can raise complaint against irresponsible content which impact society - and surrogacy track was extremely problematic - in the way they made Sai accept it. Women in India are forced to abort their fetus or bear a child under pressure from in-laws. This was just like that.

Same was the issue with DevKIt wedding - they were normalizing honour killing - another terrible practice in India.

And Ghum does romanticize abuse - have been saying it for a long time. In a country like India with disempowered girls who get carried away by these notions, there has to be some responsibility. In USA, movies do draw flak for objectification of women.

Not that it would have brought a change - but we do it for our satisfaction.

Agreed... and the Aish bashing gives them a nice option... to keep her in the show so that conversation keeps on going.... we have a ready-made conflict... handed to makers on silver platter.

I had said this many times earlier.... stop visiting her SM profiles, her videos and stop giving footage. Hit them where they are weak. All these people get paid through SM... contracts and what not... why give attention if you don't like the person??? Ignore them... just like we would do in real life 🤪

What's happening now is nothing different!!!! Pitching NB against HA is going to go the same way... and in the end both would win. It's the audience who loses.

Even I participated in the whole trend and sent a mail but I made it clear back then that it was only for adding bulk 😆 I did it for fun without expecting any change
