I have few points to put across and also I got few points from the posts which I read.

1) Murtasim slapped her. Did he whole-heartedly apologize to her for slapping her? No. Till now, no. At some instances I totally forgot about the slap until I got reminded by the posts I read. Because the drama shows the love story from Murtasim's point of view and also highlights his efforts to make this relationship work.

2) Murtasim was responsible for the accident. His anger and his ego made him drive like that and cause the accident. If he is in so much love, wouldn't he consider the safety of his loved one while driving?

3) The way Murtasim dealt with Haya was disappointing. In Gajra incident, can't he see what Haya was doing there? Was he that naive? And also taking Haya with him for 2 days was a big disappointment. He couldn't take it when Meerab was with Rohail for half an hour but he can take Haya with him for 2 days.

4) If I am not wrong I didn't see him apologizing to Meerab, like someone said, for asking her to go and also not giving a chance to explain herself after the accident.

Yes but we conveniently ignore that.

They are BOTH flawed and err repeatedly

Not once, but multiple times

Not one, but both of them

Leave aside whether Meerab loves Murtasim or not, let me take you to the Haya-Murtasim village incident, where Murtasim whispers an 'I love you' desperately to make his wife believe in him, but what's stark and worth talking about is his wife's stern and LOUDER 'no, you don't'

What does that say about their equation?

He is hopelessly in love but she does not WANT to believe in that love

A wife when treated with the first confession from her husband would normally pause and take a moment to let that sink in but that's not something Meerab does.

Why does she not believe in his love? Despite majority of the audience believing he has done every possible thing to prove his love? The thing is he's not done it right!

Why is she ungrateful to him for not saving her life in the accident? 🤪Mate, he was RESPONSIBLE for the accident. He was in the driver's seat driving recklessly in rage, putting both his and her life at risk. Periodt.

After she's ousted from his home, who does he chose to believe in? Haya! If his love for her is so deep, it should give him a sense of something being fishy and that Meerab would never leave him on her own. He only gets her back, forcefully again, after his sister reveals the truth to him.

Their conversation after that is another poignant one where she says, even in his presence, she isn't suffering any less and things haven't quite drastically changed for her. Is she right? Totally. She is crucified for the slightest blunders she commits while others walk scot free.

The fish incident, you conveniently forget how the girl landed on Anwer's door asking for help, the man she despises the most in the world. You forget how she tried to make it up to him by cooking his favourite breakfast. She makes efforts, if only you'll don't turn a blind eye to it

Why should she be grateful for Murtasim for keeping her respect in front of everyone? Is the bar that low? That is the least a good husband can do for his wife, even in Islamic values. So please stop putting him on a pedestal for doing the bare minimum 🤪

Why should a girl not care about her character being questioned and try to clear her name first when every damn person in her life is accusing her of having a questionable character? Case in point, everyone, including her 3 useless parents. But who does she chose to give the explanations to? Only her husband and she does that THRICE

Meerab's trust issue theory is as relevant as Murtasim's love for her. Because with others, it's not about her trusting someone with her emotions, with Murtasim, it's trusting him with her heart, her soul, her body, her emotions, which have been so battered by her very own family. It is bound to take time and mammoth efforts from her husband

As for now, she very well believes that all of Murtasim's efforts come because she is wife, his izzat, and even Murtasim makes it very evident with his frequent 'meri biwi' phrasings. The one time, he says, 'meri meerab' in episode 14, she is left thinking and pondering.

In conclusion, most of the audience is too impatient for the defiance from a woman, as taciturn as Meerab. Most love women who are submissive, in fiction or reality. Her journey is not appreciated enough and I think, it never will be. Yes, it's painstakingly slow, but only humane for someone who's went through all that Meerab did

Bold: In Islam it's a husband's obligation to respect his wife but same is for women. In terms of gratitude it doesn't necessarily means that she should thanks him instead she could humbly reciprocate the respect. But she doesn't. Her remaining silent in front of Rohail proved that she considers Murtasim less than a human, even when Rohail spitted ill things and gave disgusting ideas, she should have slapped him or should've given a harsh reply, instead she chose to act like an opressed girl. Her supporting Maryam in a wrong way speaks volume of how much she respects her husband. Murtasim isn't ideal but tries his best to contribute in this relationship.

If Murtasim only respects Meerab for the sake of her being his wife, than he wouldn't have asked her wish for the marriage before agreeing, neither would have succumb to the contract demands.

Regarding Murtasim believing Haya after accident then we must keep in mind that Murtasim had nothing to rely upon and trust Meerab, as she did nothing to earn his trust. Even now when Murtasim is trusting her, she is doing everything to shatter it. Also Murtasim didn't believe Haya but he believed that Meerab left him when he figured out that she didn't visit him for once in hospital and his mother kept the condition of acceptance, Maa Begum didn't deny it either. Why would he become a fool to trust Meerab over his mother, when his mother clearly cares for him more and Meerab only expressed her displeasure on their relationship left, right and center.

Anyway I watch this story from an Islamic perspective because the characters are Muslim and watching a woman behaving so badly with her husband for no reason is very sad for me. I was okay initially but now it's not considering her recent actions.

She must make a decision of either accepting this marriage or leaving it, but must stop taking Murtasim for granted and now she must start learning from her mistakes instead of remaining stubborn. A girl like Meerab would never be the definition of strong woman, because her basic mistake is to not acknowledge her reality and move towards betterment. I lost connect with her journey because of her inconsistency. Though I don't agree with your opinions but I respect them since everyone has a right to share them. Keep sharing them and have a good day 👍🏼

In one of your posts you asked the question, should we hate the writer?

I don't like/dislike/hate the writer but I am highly disappointed with the writer. Like someone mentioned, the writer being a female could have written Meerab's character with depth. I feel that a woman can understand another woman's feelings better. Even if we consider that the script got cut short but still I feel that the writer did not do a good job in writing Meerab's character. It is not about one or two episodes it is 21 episodes after the marriage episode, we don't get to see Meerab's point of view, her struggle between her heart and mind. And also mostly there is no continuinty in her emotions. Her emotions are changed from scene to scene and we don't get to see why.

I am biased towards Meerab. I know both are flawed but I feel bad for Meerab because of what she had gone through and also because we don't get the scenes to understand her character.

Very well put. I agree!

But we want to see the love story and progress in their relationship 🤔 And ab patience khatam hota ja rha hai, when they repeatedly show Meerab hot and cold, changing from minute to minute as to what she wants.

I'm here for the love story, uss mei progression dikhaye and show Meerab developing feelings 😆
