I am trying to see the story through characters and not as a viewer, so here is what I understood.

Mariam- if we see as a viewer than she comes out as a dumb person but is she really that stupid? She doesn’t know Zubair so she can’t understand what his motives are, it seems that her family has kept her out of all the drama so it’s not her fault that she fell in love with a wrong guy. We don’t know their love story, but she does so we really don’t have any right to judge if it’s true or false. She didn’t fall in love with Zubair but a random guy who didn’t know her so why would she think that he may have ill intentions and if she would have thought that then it was in the start but Zubair was able to remove her doubts if she had any. The next thing is she belongs to a very conservative family and I am taking the liberty to think that she never talked to a boy before so now when a boy came, talked to her sweetly there is no way that she would not like his attention, she did so falling in love was not her fault, she called him in her room so it clearly shows her trust level, we know that she is trusting the wrong guy but she doesn’t know. The only thing I don’t like in her character is that she knows Haya has ill intentions and she stills encouraged her to talk to Murtasim, she is ready to forgive her for a murder attempt but is not ready to take a stand for herself and the she threw this burden on the first person who got to know her truth. How it is fair to Meerub? For her relationship she is ready to sacrifice her brother’s life, she is ready to deceive her brother to show her loyalty to a man she only met few months ago. She had a choice to convince her lover but she made the choice to betray her family.

Meerub- As a viewer we know the consequences of her actions, but does she? She may not know the Zubair but she clearly knows that she is betraying Murtasim and she still chose to go that way so what could be the reason? She is ready to stand up for Mariam because she believes that it is the right thing, she doesn’t care about the consequences, and another reason could be she found Mariam running away and she doesn’t want Mariam to take any wrong decisions so she is ready to take it on her behalf. So it could mean that she is trying to protect Mariam. About the flirting part, I still don’t approve it there are many ways to distract it but using someone’s feelings should not be the one, she is well aware of Murtasim’s feelings but she still did it, I understand she could not let him find them and it’s okay because for some it may not be that much of a big deal but in a conservative society it really is. Her intentions are pure but her actions are impulsive. In her impulsiveness she forgot that sometimes not helping a person could be a big help to him/her. She is ready to make a decision or to support a decision which could alter one’s life so she needs to know the facts, the whole truth, once Yudhisthir said that who holds the decision making power he/she can’t feign ignorance and I agree with him. She has the power but she doesn’t know how to use it, it doesn’t mean that she is stupid it just show how ignorant she is of herself and it is more dangerous for her, one’s stupidity can be justified but not his/her ignorance of it is affecting other’s life as well.

Haya- No words for her selfishness, she doesn’t deserve a family🤢

Murtasim- As a viewer he is blameless in this situation but not as a character. How does he not knows what’s going in his sister’s life, he is a father figure in her life, it’s his duty to sit with her, to talk with her, to support her. How can he expect her to come to him if he doesn’t go to her. He can’t be so trusting if he wants to protect his family, if you want to head your family, your people then learn to go above your emotions, he clearly fails in assuring that his house is safe to live. In order to pursue his love, his wife, he forgot his duty toward others. He should no what goes in his house, I accept he is no god to understand what the other person feels but he has all the ways to be aware what is going on in his house. Like I said above power knows no ignorance so he can’t have both the things, he can’t assume power if he doesn’t know what’s happening around him. How would he do anything if he is so ignorant to everything happening around him.

Now the last thing as a viewer, I won’t blame him if he doesn’t trust Meerub and Mariam from now on, Trust is earned and when they had his trust they misused it and now they have no right to ask his trust. And how would he not know that Meerub was fake flirting with him, Zubair would definitely tell him that his wife saw him in his house and what she did and if he can’t put two and two together then he should hand over his khan position to Haya

It's better to look at the characters separately to understand them... this way we can know the actual intention for each of their action.

Why is everyone so upset with Meerab and Murtasim?They are behaving exactly the way they are supposed to behave ! Just that they are married and he is in love and she is in numb or depressed - will not make them shake off their originality!

Meerab is her own person. She is strong, naive and impulsive but not dumb, bratty or remotely insensitive.
For her to accept Murtasim love she has to accept his flaws too - his anger and his thinking! This won’t come easily to her. She is scared of his anger given her upbringing! She probably never saw Waqas raising his voice over maid and for someone grown up in that atmosphere , MK anger is scary and remember she said she feels he is poisonous and entire environment of haveli and people caged and regressive. He could as well as die to prove his love for her , but that will not make her change her opinion of him. Plus she thinks dying is easy so he has to pull a bigger stunts but not ethan hawke type, no guns and no jumps! So all that support and thing is good but not enuf! Her insensitivity towards his advances is not her naïveté but her way of protecting herself from him. She had fallen for his charm but not ready to submit herself. First he needs to earn her trust and then love.So what can he do to earn her trust and love ? Is the crux of story.

KMK reaction to entire Rohail and aftermath is totally him ! If he would have walked away from rohail house silently after listening to his trash talk and Meerab’s silence it would have been so out of character and him blowing up after what he saw is how he was always! He is in love with her but does he believe she loves him - No , he doesn’t . So for him to trust her will not come easily ! He is a man of commitment, once committed he is totally in, there is no pendulum giri for him and meerab has not given him any reason to make him trust her love, not her character .Since she is not giving him any he came to with his own - Jump ! Does he have right to do so- No. would he do the same - Yes , he won’t even question why? So per him if he can do that in love for her, she can also do it for him.Would he have let her jump- No , what if she had slipped or there was an accident ? he would jumped behind her even before anyone could comprehend what happened.

She smiles - He smiles . She cries - He cries . She is in pain- He feels the pain. She lives - He lives !
That’s extent of his passion and love for her! Is it shallow No not at all , to love someone to let it consumes you so much is not easy! But it lacks depth and perspective. He understands her better than anyone else, but he is holding himself as he is afraid of the aftermath,if she doesn’t reciprocate .Because he ain’t letting her go under any circumstances , he will as well live with her in that bedroom without consummating but no way he will ask her to leave ! so she will leave. him on her own accord for his good !

So with/without Meerab , mariyam was doomed but getting Meerab involved she doomed there already shaky marriage unknowingly! Meerab reaction was what anybody in her place do! She tries to reason out later and let’s see how the ring thing plays out. Am sure Mariyam is not getting hitched to that leech , in TB world only Meerasim suffer rest all get happy meal that too free of cost !

The only problem in all this chaos is why neither Murtasim nor Meerab are addressing the elephant in the room? Why none of them are bringing up what is next step?
Why is he not asking her what is stopping her from taking leap of faith and why doesn’t she tell him what she wants? Why oh why these two don’t talk ?

Why a man who is in love with her and understands her pain is not able to understand that she needs more than his love to heal and why someone like meerab who has gone through so much not able to understand that all her answers is right in infront of her , all she has to do is reach out to it and everything will fall into place!

Can they both stop quoting Pyaar , Ishq and Mohabath and start speaking already !
