indeed. Even recent researches in biology and chromosomes reveals that XX and XY aren't the only genes.. there's more variation within and it really is a spectrum. It is quite unfortunate that despite having information on our fingertips, people choose to believe something that was written few thousand years ago but not the actual scientific evidences.

Actually gender identity doesn't depend on the configuration of the chromosomes. The organs develop in the first trimester as per the chromosomes. But gender identity develops in the second trimester independent of the chromosomes. GI basically depends on the sexual differentiation of the brain under the influence of hormones inside the womb. That is why, trans ppl are able to identify their gender on the inside but on the outside the body is different, that of a cis male/female that they do not identify with. True, there is plenty of research yet the society is struggling with so much discrimination 😢
