Viaan deciding to let that go and not sue her back was actually fine. Coz sometimes people who have suffered would be like enough with stress and drama, I want it to be over. So his decision to not stretch it is fine.

I mean isn't it seriously too much? I can understand him letting her get away with this. But letting her continue the job after such huge backstabbing is utterly ridiculous. Katha, Teji and Ehsan were definitely more realistic and relatable.

Viaan should be more relatable. He looks like he's losing his sanity, relatable factor in favor of being shown as a good guy. 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

Its because of him falling in love, or he didn't wanna be the reason of another woman's suffering after he has been repenting about his actions with Katha.

Still, he could have simply said I don't wanna sue but she can't work for Earthcon anymore. Which would have been the best thing for all of them including Viaan, Earthcon employees or even for Shamita. Now she would be met with suspicion all the time.

Such a bad foolish decision. And I'm disappointed with Teji and Ehsan for letting the guy go ahead with this.

Viaan might have been the biggest victim coz of the allegation, but Teji, Ehsan and Earthcon as a whole did suffer a lot. It's not entirely fair to them.... They should have taken a strong stand against Viaan's stupid decision.

Even Katha was baffled with him. But she just can't show it to him as she is an employee herself. But Teji, Ehsan and even Farah should have. They didn't protest enough against Viaan's stupid act of forgiveness

She is not going to be working at Earthcon. She was given a recommendation letter to go find a new job...small mercies 😆

I really wish the makers had used a more measured common sense approach even if they had to make viaan mahaan. say he didn't want to take action against her and wanted the chapter closed, then he could have said something like:

-- we won't be filing case against you; however, you are immediately terminated. you have the choice to make the resignation yourself so it looks like you are leaving. we cannot in good conscience give you a recommendation letter because you have brought ill repute and danger to the company as well as raising everyone's stress levels.

if they had done something like that, I would have been okay with viaan showing some leniency with shamita..... but instead we had stupid viaan. ugh.

when I think from a business perspective, viaan comes across as a total moron. this is a great example of a business management concept -- the fallacy of rewarding A while hoping for B.

what it means is rewarding bad behaviour while thinking good things (like increased productivity) will happen. so basically you have to relate good behaviour with carrots and not the other way around.

so what has viaan done?

#1 shamita and others like him now know that viaan is a gooey mess. all you have to do is cry and do a bechari act and he will forgive all sorts of bad behaviour including potential crimes. want to steal from the company? go ahead. just make sure you have your hankies ready when you get caught. viaan will give you some sort of all is well lecture and you will get off scot free.

in other words -- employees are free to indulge in bad behaviour because there are no consequences

#2 earthcon is not a safe workspace like viaan claims it to be. anyone can make allegations but there will be no appropriate consequences or punishment. you cannot complain about wrong doings because no action will be taken against that employee. instead, someone like shamita will get letter of recommendation as long as you can act bechari.

in other words -- your bechari level is important to how you survive in this company. 😳

#3 when it comes to clients like mr. abdali, it shows that viaan is too soft a leader and cannot make tough calls. this means dealing with someone like him is a liability.

in other words -- he just lost points in the market because he comes across as someone too afraid to prosecute an employee who hurt the company. what kind of business leader is afraid of taking tough decisions?

#4 when it comes to competition, viaan comes across as a pushover. he is too nice and so you can use all sorts of undercutting techniques and viaan will just take it.

in other words -- mr pyramid and others will try to take advantage because viaan is too soft and not shrewd. all you need to do is hit him in the heart and he will melt like puddle.

so while viaan thinks he is being mahaan, he has actually endagered himself as well as the company. 🤦
