Divya was too young and got too much at too young age, and was not that formally educated or grounded. It seems she got carried away by fame and stardom or attention she got at such a young age and all comparisons to resemblance with Sridevi. She was fairly immature if articles of that time are anything to go by, which is a given, considering her young age.

She dropped out of school/college to work and her parents pushed her in industry. Hard work is a given then if one manages to get so much work at young age and parents are also pushy.

yeah even I read in many 90s magazines she used to drink a lot and her behavior was quite wild, she used to smoke an drink relentlessly to the verge of not been safe... and was quite a sensitive fragile person

That was my point. She may have drank. But I don't think she could have been addict. Addicts have issues with irregular sleep patterns. Cannot show up to work regularly. And drink on the job and can not concentrate. Sanjay, Deepika, Ranbir, Ranvir, Salman have not complete 11 movies in 2 years I am not sure? Maybe they have. She use to work all the time is my point. I am sure she partied it up on her days off. Anyone with a tough job would.

Yeah, she herself said in an interview. She chose to come into movies because she hated school. Her parents might have pushed her into it. But she said she would rather act then be in school.

She was a teenager. Teenagers all have tantrum problems because they are going through hormonal changes. So I am sure in her teenage years she went through that has well. A few or a rare breed can manage to still stay calm at that age.

I am not judging her for tantrum issues at 19 when people have issues even in 20s and 30s. It happens.

All I am saying is that she had too much too soon. Too much was going on for her to handle IMO.

She was known to be reckless with herself and lacked discipline and professionalism and spoke without thinking and would often turn up late.

It is possible she was trapped in a situation she did not know what she was getting in to.

I think she married too soon as well.

She is a mysterious case.

But not entirely the legend in waiting or next Sridevi or mega talent she is made out to be now.

She looked good but she was a very average actor with flat dialogue delivery and lacked seriousness about her career and had no focus like say, Madhuri nor good guidance or networking skills. I would blame her parents for pushing her than being her guides or anchor the way Madhuri's and Hema's parents served as anchor for them.

I agree she was an average actress. I haven't read too much the unprofessionalism.

Maybe she was. You can judge her. I don't know her personally. But look how much Lolo improved as an actress. Maybe given time she would have too. I mostly liked her dancing in "Main there peeche agayi." I heard she was most famous for that. The same director had dismissed her picture before. This was before she made in South movies. He was like yeh gol motol kaha se agayi. 😆
