On point! The birthday episode screamed jealousy and possessiveness. Even the scene in first episode where he held the stick, he behaved as if he had a right on her.Originally posted by: Gundamwing
INUUU I fixed it
He wouldn't have let her marry anyone else. They had an unexplainable bond even before engagement.
Unfortunately we didn't get to see that story, we only get couple scenes here and there to make inferences on how deeply he cared. I go back to that scene when her foster father raised her hand to threaten her, Murtasim looking away in disapproval he didn't like that one bit.
Murtasim entered that birthday party like a gangster, he doesn't acknowledge anybody, his eyes only on Meerab, you see not only rage on his face but he is feeling betrayed. His first chalo is a seething request. Sticky notes dared to stop Murtasim from taking her by touching her. Murtasim doesn't even look at sticky notes, his eyes on Meerab only he says 'do you want to tell him or should I'. That is a hurt husband/boyfriend right there, what Murtasim means is 'tell him who I am to you'.
When sticky notes snaps his fingers, Murtasim is not just angry now he is hurt too as he tells Meerab 'I am silent for your sake'. The second chalo is a command. When sticky notes touched Meerab a second time, Murtasim looks down and looks up at the intruder who invaded his world with Meerab and the beast is unleashed. After he drags her away he still can't calm down, there is more than anger here he acted like she cheated on him.
Let me ask this if you are hanging out with a friend and a goon put a knife to your friend's throat who would you go for, the friend or the goon. You would go for your friend to protect him, to shield him and try to save him. Meerab doesn't give 2 shits about sticky notes, she immediately grabs Murtasim to stop him. Even before she became his wife, just like the bullets she protects him from from losing his mind. If either of them are on the precipice only the other can calm them down. It goes back to their terrace scenes when Meerab psyche is on the edge Murtasim comes to her to talk to her off that the ledge.
This whole Bday scene screams jealous boyfriend. This is not a man who would have let her marry anyone else, a simple bday party transformed him into the Terminator. If there was ever a wedding for Meerab it would have become 'RED WEDDING'.
Meerab only ever belonged to Murtasim. At the start his vexation towards her stems from her not giving him a chance, he felt misunderstood and he didn't know how to express it in a healthy way. He didn't fall in love just because he married her, her suffering was the key to a locked box of Murtasim feelings, once opened it just loose his realization that he had always loved her subconsciously. Meerab is tube light, and her identity crisis has caused her foggy brain and heart is hurt so she is on shut down mode. She too will have her epiphanies.
I wish we could have seen flashbacks of their relationship before marriage. Surely they had many angsty/ tom n jerry fights since they knew each other since childhood.
