In terms of full-length comedy specials Eddie Izzard's "Dress to Kill" is hilarious.

Unfortunately, I am not too familiar with desis standups. I've seen Vir Das specials and enjoyed them. I also like the stuff the guys at East India Comedy put out.

Vir Das is pretty good. AIB before the scandals was very innovative, the first time India ever saw a roast was thanks to them. But most as of now it's just independent comics going on tours, if they are successful enough.

I love Varun Grover. Akash Gupta is good too. Some of Vir Das's stuff is good too.

It's a hit and miss with Rahul Dua, Abhishek Upmanyu, and Kenny. Sometimes they are good, other times very boring.

Among female comics, some of Urooj's stuff is good. Gurleen Pannu is also good most of the time, loved her Comicstaan sets.

Some of Bassi's sets available on YouTube are good but his latest Prime Special was sooo bad, sooo bad that I was shocked. Prime should have refused to use it.

Kanan has been a favourite since pretentious movie reviews days. Among female comics, I feel Aditi Mittal is very good. Her takes are sharp and brilliant sometimes. I like her way of delivery too.

She's like a clumsy teenagers stumbling on stage to recite few jokes she memorized off the interest, I'm being this harsh because I saw her live and my god I cried internally for the money I had spent on her. In fact I ranted about her on the CC couple of days back. 😆

I would never pay to attend her show😆. One YouTube view is all she is getting from me. Infact the first part of this set is her best work.

On the other hand, I would totally pay to watch Varun Grover and Kanan. Initially I would have for Biswa too, but m kinda bored of that weird voice he uses. It's done to death now. No longer funny. So really on the fence about Biswa right now.

I would prolly attend a Rahul Dua or Akash Gupta show too. These guys won't totally bomb for sure. They put in a lot of effort on their sets, with Gupta definitely being the better of the two.

Among women Prashasti is good too. But again, I would not attend a paid show of hers, but will watch a Netflix or Prime special. I dont like all her jokes, she can get really crass. I dont find abuses funny, no matter who does it. Shreeja is also good for YouTube only. People who use a weird tone or style of narration get boring really fast.

I like Amit Tandon, Abhishek Upmanyu and Akash Gupta.

Upmanyu is best. His tongue issues and Mental health issues were hilarious.

Did anyone follow the old seasons of Indian Laughter Challenge? I really enjoyed Ali Hassan and that dude with him.

Even Bharti is funny sometimes. But Harsh is annoying.

I think most of the comics I've liked have gotten boring for me over time. I really liked Zakir but I think he's becoming weird now that he's got popular because he wants to become more popular and is doing weird shit. But I usually like Zakir, Kenny, sometimes Biswa, sometimes Kanan, Akash Gupta, Urooj Ashfaq, Vir Das, sometimes Prashasti off the top of my head. I liked Neville Shah's special, it was very different and gloomy but also funny.

I find Comicstaan very cringey but I always watch all the episodes still. I think it is supposed to show us the process of becoming funny and not be amazingly funny itself. I mean I think that its concept is different from the laughter challenge which only had people coming and cracking jokes. That show makes every comedian contestant go through all forms of comedy, whether they come from any comfort zone. So obviously it falls flat most fo the time but I like seeing how a particular contestant is going to perform a particular form, I have my own favourites and those I dislike, so it's fun for me.

I also watched one show where they had may 10-15 comedians including Sunil Grover, Akash Gupta, Gaurav Gera among others and Gaurav won. It was pretty boring but I just went through all of that also and it really changed my perception of some of those people, seeing how and what kind of efforts they were making.

I have to say that I don't find most of the popular female comedians funny in India. But that's probably because they are mostly doing female issues related comedy and I am not in the mood for that all the time. Plus I feel like just because they're girls, doesn't mean they have to talk about periods and boobs and bra etc. all the damn time. Anyway I don't like the kind of comedy where they think offensive language is the only way to be funny because it seems like a cheap shot to me. Why don't you put some more effort? But I think the newer lot of females is funny like Urooj, Shreeja, Prashasti, Kusha Kapila. To name the previous ones, I think Bharti has been funny most of the times, even though she overdid it later and I like Malika Dua sometimes.
