Maa Begum was taunting Waqas for his upbringing. Can someone come and ask Maa Begum what upbringing she gave to Murtasim that he slapped a woman?

What upbringing she gave to behaya who is openly professing her love to a married man infront of the whole world

Meerab can be anything but she isn't a characterless like behaya

The past meerab the way she was can she reclaim it back to become his wife NO. Can she just be content with being his wife NO. The past is not good enough and the present is just not enough. She needs to put the different pieces of herself together and create a new identity one that is forged in fires of mount doom and can’t be destroyed like her previous self. This new version will dare to dream again. But here is the kicker what she wants to do will depend on what murtasim will let her do. This is the test of his character, she has questions only he has all the answers.

This is very well said!!! This reminds me of the talk she had with ma begum where she says because of your wish, i lost my identity.

As much as we criticize her, if i put myself in her shoes, wouldnt i do the same? I was born and brought up abroad and tmrw if i was forcefully married to someone back home and stuck there.. i would perhaps do worse than meerab no matter how loving my husband is to me. I would feel lost.

Like you said she needs to find herself again.
