But yeah. I am truly enjoying the show and I love the actors...it a beautifully complex story with characters who are human and relatable and the premise makes it all the more intriguing. I started visiting the forum only about a month or so back looking for some stimulating discussion but not too many people in this forum seem to be enjoying the show:)

LOL yeah I've avoided posting much in the forum for the same reason...most people just seem to be cribbing about the show daily😆. I was wondering if there is something wrong with me that I'm liking the show while most people here seem to be finding something or the other objectionable in the show 🤔😆

I feel like they've made this show with a lot of thought and attention to detail....it shows in every department from the writing to the acting to the direction....the choice of music pieces they use to enhance the scenes....kudos to the team for what they've put together in this 80 episode journey so far. Yes, the story gets into some sidetracks from time to time but overall I still don't have much cause for complaint at this point honestly.

Totally echo your thoughts😆!! I was very surprised by the complete sannata in this forum except for the DT. Cause I have seen shows where just a couple of good scenes would lead to endless discussions and lovely posts and VMs and what not. I think there was one which I really enjoyed long back DMG...and we would be on fire after the show. This is hands down the best thing I have watched on ITV in a very very long time... It truly comes across as a labour of love. I don't mind the flaws considering I am recovering from watching 3 months of BALH2, which I finally gave up:)

Loved the discussions happening here :) , I agree that writers are doing fantastic job with their track line ups all linked with one another and taking story forward. There is so much more potential in this show to explore and I am glad that in some way it has taken a different route from OG show. Reading about the original show was like a typical indian masala tv show with so many twists and turns. I hope they will give a realistic and beautiful twists to those events too. I am in for drama but I like flawed characters going through their own journey of finding themselves too. Viaan has shown that journey in this show which makes him relatable while Katha also embraces her journey into falling in love again and that too with a man she started off with ONS. Plots woven around them just moves that journey further.

I think the controversial baseline of the story is the problem for many people.....people can't gush over the good scenes as much cuz the baggage of the ONS lingers. Yehi if Viaan didn't come with any such baggage, he would be getting hailed as ideal ML etc. etc since people rush to attach hyped up labels these days anyways😆.

Dusra, the scenes are done so subtly here....no typical cliched trip/catch scenes or usual romantic scenes that people usually seem to need to generate discussions etc I guess.

Wow you got through even 3 months of BALH2? I couldn't get through more than one week of epis😆.....itna lazy copy/paste of BALH season 1 storyline and upar se the acting levels nowhere near the original BALH.

Anyways, word on this being one of the best things I've watched after a long time on ITV....slice of life shows are not a new thing on Sony but this show is a rare one that has shown something with this much layering of emotional conflicts so beautifully.

+100....I haven't read much about the OG show other than the broad story summary but I'm glad to hear that Katha writers are taking a different route and adding their own treatment/sensibilities to the storyline.

So far they have avoided the typical ITV high voltage melodrama even as we get twists and turns in the story.....we can only hope they continue to steer clear of typical ITV gimmicks.

I caught up on the last bunch of episodes and the one stark contrast which I o served was how katha’s clarity with life has been replaced by her dilemmas and viaan’s fudfled thoughts from before have absolute clarity now…this narrative is just next level amazing…Aditi’s expressions as she is battling with her truth with gyaan but also her experience with the “new” vimaan n now this allegation has been portrayed so well by her…you can see how she is restless can’t sleep n yet is not able to pinpoint what is wrong here…what is causing this restlessness…I love her scenes with Neerja providing the voice of reason n yet it feels so hollow coz no d knows she faced the exact same situation with viaan…the only difference was that was the reality n Shamita is lying…v v interesting

Contrast that with viasn…previously he was all over the place…in his blind hatred towards women he was not realizing that the restlessness the instability in his life only he can help himself…n the viraan from now such surety, such absolute conviction in his thoughts in his actions in his beliefs coz he knows he is truthful n as he says himself his conscience is clear …

I’m hooked!!

After reading so many confused posts on KA I have come across one with clarity..This is the exact essence of what they are showing now.. Well written..Love the show..natural acting and screen play with no OTT reactions and camera zooming..

Whatever I have gathered about the OG from the comments, the OG sounds like a typical potboiler where the whole premise is based on lust and attraction being the centre of the ONS. So I would say hats off to the makers of Katha for adapting it into a beautifully nuanced story of prejudice, mistakes, redemption and then love. Hope they keep it as a limited series with a proper conclusion and do not succumb to the trp game:)

Agree with you...the dilemma, the conflicting emotions, the situation Katha and Viaan are in, after this accusation is being brought out beautifully. I know some people are finding the pace too sluggish and losing interes,t but the makers are spending a lot of time on this track because it highlights the core issue of the show... and they cannot rush through this track. One cannot compare the pace with the first few weeks of the show because that was the buildup to where K and V find themselves today. In between the traction was kind of lost with focus on other issues, but now I like how things are moving.

This issue cannot be resolved overnight and they need to highlight Katha's confusion and her moving towards clarity on 'Kaun hain Aap'? You have put it beautifully that both K and V have gone through a sea change of attitude after the ONS. She is restless and he is calm...cause her emotions about him are muddled right now and he has a clear conscious this time besides clarity about his own feelings for her.

And what I really like is the larger question this whole track is highlighting...If you have done something terrible in the past, but having realised your mistake & admitted how wrong you were... have been seeking forgiveness from the one you wronged, and steeped in guilt are trying your best to redeem yourself by bringing in a sea change in your attitude/behaviour by undoing the wrong beliefs that led you down that path...are you still deserving of punishment for your misdeed? In fact Viaan rehired Shamita because of these changed beliefs. Just the way Katha gave him a second chance he felt that he should give Shamita a second chance because people make mistakes and we should not hold them to those mistakes for the rest of their lives. If you are truly repentant do you not deserve a second chance?

On the other hand its also ironical and heart breaking from Katha's POV, when everyone around is vouching for Viaan's character, including Dodo who barely knows him, because they have only seen the good side of Viaan. I think Viaan is right when he says 'Jo maine kiya hai uski sazaa mujhe zaroor milegi' with absolute calmness...it will eventually happen...casue karma is a b**** and no matter how repentant he is now he cannot undo the past, it will come to bite him one day! It may happen at a later date when Jitu Bhai, Dodo, Teji, Ehsan and others who have absolute confidence in his goodness, will come to know about the ONS. Let's see how they deal with it at that stage. But for now am pretty sure he will be proven innocent cause like he said 'Jo maine kiya hi nahin uski sazaa mujhe kyun mile'. But in the process Katha's feelings for him will get stirred...cause her doubts around his character will be laid to rest once and for all...or not. Will she ever learn to trust him truly ?? Looking forward to how they depict that.

I loved the Katha- Viaan scene in the last episode esp what Viaan said to Katha about their past ...he told her that in the eyes of God I know I am guilty and cannot offer any explanations but as for the current scenario...ask me whatever you want to...I will answer every question you want me to. I do feel the sneak peak where Katha questions him about the past is pbbly his or her dream. Cause it would be a low blow from Katha knowing as she does that he is truly repentant for that, and I don't think she wants to put him on a spot just for the sake of making him feel guilty, cause she too had moved past that night in some way.

I liked the Viaan Aarav scene...there is something very pure and unadulterated in that bond...there was some foreshadowing there...when the ONS truth comes out Aarav will be the only one in Viaan's corner. I don't know how the makers will handle it though.

I liked how Viaan's body language is completely changed in yesterday's episode...he was confident in his innocence and that is what he was carrying in his attitude initially. But after realising that Katha has doubts on his character again, somthing inside him broke again...the weight of the guilt he was carrying on his shoulders for weeks after he realised his mistake had been lifted off after the Lonavala trip when he realised that Katha had understood him and kind of moved beyond that night. But now the weight of it is back in full force...he loves her and she doubts him, he wills her to believe his truth but she is full of confusion and that breaks his heart.

Hmm...enough for now...I think I have compensated for the silence in the forum🤣.

Another good review...I don't know why everyone wants a fast forwarded Dhoom dhaam episode..Till now everyone was finding fault with itv that they do not wait for closure of the ongoing plot instead jumps into another but here makers are dealing it so beautifully , so when we go forward there won't be any doubt that Viaan deserves forgiveness and Katha can feel attracted to him..

I was also wondering the same..why everyone was finding fault when I couldn't find any..I have been in one forum before where people started demanding some threads to which the creatives started complying which led to decrease in trp and later closure of the show..This is their baby ,please let them work on it..we always have a choice to not watch if we feel it's not worth the time...but please let us refrain from over criticising this beautiful show

I agree....I also don't understand this fad about viewers these days demanding things from the creatives of the show rather than letting a story play out as per the conviction/vision of the makers themselves. It's also disappointing when makers themselves lose conviction and start succumbing to half-baked, ill thought demands from such viewers.....that's when most shows go downhill unfortunately.

I can only hope the creatives of Katha can hold on to their convictions and continue to tell their story on their own terms rather than jumping to fulfill random demands from people. It is rare these days for people or shows to stand up for their own identity....a show like Katha is impressing precisely cuz it's carving out its own identity right now rather than being a mouthpiece for random demands from viewers.
