Lavani is a traditional art form... more like folk origins... but it doesn't have a good social standing in Marathi culture.

Not exactly a kotha/tawaif(doesnt have a sexual angle) ... but similar... lavani lyrics and songs are all about female attracting a man.

Lavani dancers were for male gaze... and for them to enjoy. Doesn't have mainstream acceptance in general.

Gudi padwa is a religious festival... First day of Hindu new year. No way lavani would be performed on Gudi padwa 👎🏼
