Third Theory:

Abhinav decides to leave but Akshu still manages to convince him to stay. He may continue the marriage sham to satisfy his heart for a bit or he says I can only be your friend and stays firm on that.

and come to think of it Jaya Bachchan had said in an interview that Respect is the cornerstone of every successful marriage, rest everything fades in time,

it’s a big ego booster to get respect from the man who once never even looked at you and Now he will adhere to every wish of yours and never make a Decision without consulting you neither did Manju get it nor did Akshu
