Hassan's review of Kuch Ankhahi, especially from 39:16 to 44:33, highlighted some very good points regarding how this drama is not well-knit, has loop holes, and the scenes are good in isolation but not in entirety. Also, why the review of this drama can't be compared with the review of a drama like Tere Bin.

Thank you Hassan for pointing this things out . I disagree with Saif part. He is not bhola. He is a spineless liar to me.

This is disappointing to See a Kashf foundation production having this problem. Its like they wanted to recreate older days Pak dramas and picked up characters keeping that in mind but forgot to pin point a focal point of the story.

I had the same problem with the soup scene. Wasting 15 for that while avoiding Samia issue and making Aliya part of it was odd .

For me Samia's character is a constant disappointment. This whole wedding fiasco is not relatable . Specially when they know that Saif is two timing cheater.

Salman telling Aliya that when things get out of control you should leave it to Allah is a good advice but it doesnt apply to Samia's wedding for me. They can stop it but they are not doing enough to stop it.

@bold.. I guess when they review Tere Bin they leave logic out of it and established it as typical mill and boons type story ..Kuch Ankahi is way too close to reality. We love to see a Salman or Thanvi who doesnt make issue out of cooking .. They normalised small things in the drama without being preachy.

I don't think samiya is unrealistic at all. We live in a society were girls are married off as a duty to be finished. I personally know a girl who was married off at 20 to a guy without proper enquiry simply because some astronomer told she won't get married until in her 30s if she is not married before 21. The girl went ahead with the marriage only because of her parents and later they found out the guy and his family gave fake khundali and his real zodiac sign is no match with her's. The family asked her to leave him but she stayed simply because of log kya kahenge and she didn't want to burden her parents. The dude was a total red flag and a toxic person. The girl bared a lot and he ended up committing suicide because of some office related issue. She then went through an emotional trauma and ended up becoming a completely different person. Her family wouldn't have forced her into that marriage if she took a stern stand. There was no pressure from the family to marry that particular guy itself and if she said she don't like that guy they would have looked for other proposals. But she didn't because she didn't want to make her parents worried. Her parents was also fine with her getting a divorce from the guy after they found out about the lies and his toxic behaviour but she still stayed on because her brother was getting a divorce from his wife of his choice and she didn't want her parents to have two divorced kids at home.

A lot of girls see themselves as a burden to their family and they will agree to any marriage just to make their parents happy and be the 'good girl' and sacrificial lambs.

Saif ul Rahman is a liar and a very good one at it. His scene with the father was very convincing. It was so convincing that I have this hope that he will genuinely protect samiya from his mother's greed. The family have no proof that he is cheating and he came up with a very valid point when aagajaan questioned his relationship with shagufta. Its common for people to call up and tell lies to stop a wedding and why would samiya's family believe in a phone call which can be made by anyone over saif and his mother who are their close relatives. We say how stupid leads are for distrusting each other because of a third person and getting separated but we are also calling out samiya and family for trusting someone close to them over a random person on a call. We as audience know saif is a two faced liar but the family doesn't. It would have been different if shaguftan came on her own and spoke to samiya and family but she didn't. As of now that call was made by a nameless faceless person right before the wedding. Saif and his mother are repeatedly saying they are fine with the marriage. Samiya is saying she is fine with the marriage and her mother also wants this marriage and now even agajaan is convinced. What can Aaliya do about it? In that scenario there are high chances of Aaliya being in the wrong because the society sees Ali and Tanya the same way Aaliya saw saif and shagufta at the mall. We as audience know she is right with her instincts but people in the show don't.

Tanya, phupho and Aaliya don't like Saif because he is a momma's boy who just says yes to everything his mother says and cannot take a stand for himself but then so is samiya. Samiya is a sacrificial lamb that sits at home and does everything her parents says. If saif is not worthy enough of samiya according to these three how is samiya worthy enough of say a guy with qualities like Salman?

Probably you are right about Samia type characters. But I expected more from a Kashf Foundation drama.

Saif and his mom were really convincing. My problem with the review was that they are calling Saif bhola and cute

This is sending wrong message

This looks like they combined stories of two dramas into one.

But keeping that aside now that I have started liking more than half of the characters i am not getting frustrated by the lack of screen time for Aaliya and Salman. I really enjoyed the last episode.

Again I would say, I am happy that you are enjoying it.

I just watched SH review, and I actually liked what Hassan said, It's a well written drama which is not connected well. When they have introduced so many characters and tracks then they need to pick up the speed. Loopholes are actually there.

Aww 🥺

Actually I had not such expectations, so, for me it's fine whatever treatment Aaliya and Salman's characters are getting. More than Aaliya Salman, I am interested in other characters, i am interested to know that how samiya will change saif ur rehman, how thanvi and phupho will patch up. But the snail speed and those loopholes interest ko kaam kardety hain.

That scene of Saif with Aagha Jan was actually very impact full.

Tho, I believe this track will end up with some good messaging. Whether they will give message to parents to not pressurize or emotionally blackmail your kids to get marry to anyone like that. Or there can be another message that maybe samia will be able to change saif and her mother's decision would be right one for her. Because ho na ho parents bachon ky liye ghalat nhi sochty. And also patience results in bigger reward.

This is sending wrong message

It's a joint production drama. I guess the maid's story is what kasf foundation wants to highlight and the rest is a family drama. there is not a single female character that's been degraded to just a one dimensional character. Even shagufta for whom samiya is the other woman don't hold any unwanted hatred for her. Some characters might be selfish and greedy but none are one dimensional and fully evil. So they are making sure not to degrade women for entertainment and that's very rare in dramas that air nowadays. There are multiple social issues and prejudice faced by women that's been highlighted in the drama.

The drama is not the one sending wrong message and we cannot do anything if aamna and Hassan find saif cute. Aamna even says meerab should give in and sleep with murtasim simply because murtasim is simp worthy and he is in love with her. That's way more problematic than finding a morally twisted character cute in funny scenes.

That scene was well executed and well acted. That's the first time the actor didn't remind me of miskeenbhai 😆. He was so freaking convincing that I have a hope that he will make sure samiya is taken care of. May be he won't be able to love her but he might not look down on her or take her for granted after marriage.

Samiya's dialogue that andh mein sab acha hoga might be a foreshadowing for her character. She will either rise from the ashes or Saif will grow some backbone and take a stand on his own. He isn't exactly a fattu as everyone thinks he is. He treats his mother and his gf pretty well but have a very submissive personality when it comes to his mother and shagufta who are both very dominating women. Both salman and Saif are brought up by single mothers and both are momma's boys. The only difference is Salman's mother is open minded and understands that her son should be given space and shouldn't be forced into a marriage. Salman will also obey his mother if she also starts being as stubborn as saif's mother. It's very rare when sons that grew up being so much attached to their mothers disobey them and completely go against them esp in our culture where mother's having the highest position in a child's life. They are consider even higher than gods.
