Chalo since sab ne apni apni love stories bata daali, hum bhi bata dete hai

Aur Mr America, ek hi boyfriend hai so disappoint mat hona 🀣

My boyfriend and I have known one another since primary school. He was a classmate but growing up, we never really interacted with one another. He was always just another guy in my class. To be honest I though he was the biggest 'sadu' around as once in middle school(I think it was in the 8th grade) we were paired up for some random school project and I tried to strike up a conversation with him. You know what dude did when I went up to him and said hi? He looked me dead in the eye, his face sans any expression while I stood there expecting some niceties back, he got up and then proceeded to walk away.

The audacity! Here I am talking to this guy after having been a classmate for years and he straight up blew me off. After that royal snub, I never really tired to initiate a conversation with him and he was the silent kind (still is) so ignoring his existence was so very easy. πŸ˜‚

Then a year later I randomly got a text on a school night, from this unknown sender and turns out it was him. We still were classmates and he got a common friend to give him my number. We talked for a bit and that's when I realised he wasn't an ass to me on purpose a year back, he just sucks at talking to people. His introverted brain basically had an aneurysm when I initiated a conversation without a month's notice πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ. Over the course of that year, we became really good friends and it basically became a ritual to come back home from school and start texting one another.

We started dating in high school but called it quits as we graduated. We were just teenagers and we thought making long distance work would be tough especially when you're in college, making new memories and experiencing newer things. We still remained in touch during the inital years of college. Meetings became less frequent but we always knew what the other was up to through texts and common friends.

He dated a few others during this time and I kept attracting weirdos. I kid you not, legit grown ass men who couldn't understand that no means no. They though they'd slowly wear me down and magically make me fall in love if they persistently tried. One dude kept asking me out on the same day every year. Agar itne ajeeb nahi hote woh sab toh I would have dated at least one of them but sab namune the. One dude was sane enough but he was my boss' nephew and itne complications nahi chahiye the mujhe so I ignored him. ( All these men are now happily married, how they got a woman to marry them is a mystery)

And now as fate would have it, almost 5 years after graduating high school, a few friends of ours decided to organise an unoffical reunion of sorts with people who were still in town or would be in town on the decided date. By now, him and I had completely lost touch because of a major falling out. I enquired if he'd be coming and turned out he won't so I decided to go. Meri kismat itni mast nikli ki he somehow was able to make it and we had to spend a day together. We started talking and sorted the differences out (code for he apologised) . Uske baad our conversations never stopped.

And a year and a half later, while randomly talking one day he asked me out again. Ek woh din hai aur ek aaj ka din, ab tak phassa hua hai woh 🀣

I took my time in accepting his declaration of love, kyuki dating one of your best friends could either be absolute bliss or the worst possible decision you would ever make. This coming fall will mark four years since we started dating and although it hasn't always been all rosy and we have had some tough discussions thoughtout these years, I can't imagine having them with anyone but him. (Also, he'll probably say the same, warna I'll make him echo my sentiments)

So yeah, I'm still dating my first boyfriend and that idiot is the luckiest person alive. (He agrees)

How lovely! You both are meant for each other. 🀩
