Yes indeed both Arnav and Khushi have some disturbing Past. And who is or was Lavanya's boyfriend, I'm afraid you would not get his details as Lavanya's boyfriend has no role in Story.

We can't totally blame Ratna for feeling the way she did towards Arnav. He would have been a constant reminder of betrayal. But he was an innocent child who did not have anything to do with the situation.

The Guptas are reluctant to accept Khushi for Shyam even though they like her.
