I watched KAM 2 there when haamad sees imaam for the first time I got chills in my body that was beautifully done she looked like a woman for whom not 1 but thousands of men can die without thinking twice ... so charming and dignified her behaviour was that why it made sense to me that a person like hammad left his everything for her one glance

But in season 3 mahi was just a batmeez rajkumari she accused taimoor of stealing her jewelry first time she met him and out of nowhere he falls for her 🤪

And out of nowhere feroz also falls for her and becomes a jogi

Hamad love for imaam wasn't forced he never once accused her of anything

Kdrams evolved for the better for sure. They come up with more realistic and understanding male leads than the ones like boys over flowers. In earlier kdrama the jerk used to end up with the girl but now the good guys end up with the girl. The one that supports her and accepts her as she is, is the winner in kdramas. I think it started with strong woman do bong soon. The second lead had all the characteristics of the typical kdrama arrogant male lead who dominates the FL and acts all macho whereas the male lead was the one that don't get intimidated by the superhuman power of the FL. The FL at the start was in love with the second lead but eventually fell for the ML. So it completely debunked the childhood/first love troop. In most kdramas the FLs used to choose the ML simply because they had a childhood connection and he is her first love.

All the popular male leads nowadays are full of green flags.

That is a wonderful point you make how with time as society has evolved KDrama has kept with the times. Audiences will no longer tolerate toxic male leads, their culture is similar to ours in many things, and their dramas reflect these core values like respecting your parents, being faithful in love, being good and decent, if you do good you will be rewarded, being neighbourly, gossip is bad, hard work is rewarded, second chances are earned not given out of entitlements, honesty is a virtue not a weakness, etc etc etc.

And Hindi Dramas are going in the opposite direction. It is a shameful thing to see and admit at the ghastly state of Hindi dramas, it is a poor reflection of our society and our characters. The worst crime is Hindi Dramas have made a mockery out of love between and a man and a woman.

Strong woman Do Bong Soon is one my all time favourite romantic Kdramas. How cute was that couple, the hero was just so Handsome, my god I just fell in love with him. I can't praise this drama enough. Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo is another one with similar theme was JUST PERFECT. Can't appreciate Koreans enough they are doing everything right in their entertainment industry.

There is a difference between casting Meryl Streep and Nicole Kidman for a role, both these ladies are gorgeous, but who is the lady who gets all the attention for her looks, and who is the lady who gets all the attention for her acting. Meerab role demands an actor, not a doll. Murtasim desires in his wife character, not a show piece.

But when merly Streep is cast in a character that requires being stylish she does dress up and be stylish as it's part of her job. Her character from devils wear Prada is considered to be one of the most stylish and iconic characters ever in Hollywood. Fashion and style has nothing to do with the physical beauty. Merly Streep was already past her 50s when she did that movie and isn't exactly a tall slim figured person but her character is still the most stylish character ever. Julia Andrews in Princess diaries was also similar. She is a queen of a country and she is required to dress a certain way. Just because these two are amazing actors doesn't mean they can give a blind eye to the wardrobe and wear whatever they want and still be considered to be editor in chief of a top fashion magazine or the queen of a country.

Power dressing is a big thing and a lot of characters express themselves through the dress they wear. Movies don't spend a tremendous amount of money in wardrobe just to make a character look pretty on screen. It's often related to show the nature of the character as well. The only Desi role i can remember is Jennifer's character in behad wearing white. Her dressing in white is related to her characterization and since she comes from a rich affluential family and runs a business she wears formal wears that implies the power she holds. There is a huge difference between a woman in a well draped formal saree or a power suit portrayed as a CEO over a woman in a flowy anarkali with loud ornaments portrayed as a CEO. Dressing according to the requirement of the character is very important.

It's not applicable for pak dramas since the options are very few for Pakistani fls but dressing according to the character demand is as important as acting and there are actresses that put effort from whatever little options they have. When an actor who matches the physical characteristic of the character half the job is done. Just imagine Alia Bhatt as Rani Padmini in padmavat. Alia is a decent actress but she don't have the physical requirement to play that role and no matter how good she acts, it wouldn't be believable that an emperor was ready to waste his time and resources to destroy another Kingdom just to have her. Deepika Padukone is a very conventional beautiful woman who fills into most of the Indian beauty standards. She also has a very strong aura and charm. She isn't like an everyday girl next door person like Alia. Anyone will have a second look at her even if she wasn't a movie star and a person like that is needed to play a character like Rani Padmini whose beauty is know across kingdoms. Tabu is a way better actress than Deepika but still she won't fit into that role. The only other person is Aishwarya Rai who can play that role.

Just being a good actor is not the only criteria to be cast in any role. Matching the physical aspect and then working on the entire requirement of the role is equally necessary. Yumna is an amazing actor but she did fail on looking like the wife of the head of a super rich family. Meerab's entire wardrobe screams she is from a middle class family. She isn't even someone that was poor and then gotten married into a rich household. The entire family is old money and people with old money does have a certain style and panache to them. Anyone can tell who is the old money and who is the new money bewteen the Ambanis and the Tatas. Even the tomboyish girls from rich household will be wearing top branded clothes and will be different from the tomboy from a middle class family. Her blindly trusting the stylist is ignorance from her part. She isn't a new comer and she will have an idea on what type of clothes and what colour and patterns look good on her and on camera. If meerab failed to look like the character requirment then she is equally responsible for it and not just the stylist.
