Just adding that I am not supporting Maaya here.
I personally know people who have left their girls in a shelter home in Mysore to study on the trust funds money simply because they cannot feed them. I visit there sometimes and donate money and some girls are very attached to my husband and me, but doesn't mean that I can just walk away with one of the girls and the shelter home will look the other way.
So there is complete logic to someone poor leaving a child and coming back when they have enough money. But she lost me when she made getting Anuj her priority.
The problem is with makers introducing such problematic tracks for the sake of drama, while claiming to be a realistic and progressive show. Why introduce a bio mother angle at all? Because if they do, MaAn is bound to disqualify, however good parents they might be.
I will not blame protagonists in shows like Naagin or Nazar when they get away with murder, but this show sells itself claiming to inspire orthodox households to become progressive and yet does the opposite.
