Yes his mentality seems old but he was born in feudalistic family. I think he lost his father very early and as only son & heir of the family he has to grow up sooner than his age . If I am not wrong there was a girl in his life too which he had to sacrifice yet he moved on. So it will totally assholish of makers to ruin such hero. It will be like khud ke pairo par kulhadi marna. Also it's 2023 ab toh yeh track band kar do
