Oh don’t worry, I’ve had my english blunders plenty of times despite being born in the west. I used to forget english when my crush would come in front of me. At uni I was reading when he walked up to me and asked me what I was doing. I responded “I’m reading my readings” and he was like ?🤔? then I tried to brush it off by asking what he was doing. He told me he has an exam to attend and I had a nervous brain fart and was like “oh how was your exam?”

Once we were eating lunch at uni and I was trying to get to know more about his likes/dislikes, so I asked him what he liked eating for breakfast. He said what sounded like buttenjem but since my heart was beating in my ears, I asked if that was some kind of exotic assyrian food. He choked on his sandwich and was like “I said butter and jam.” I wanted the earth to swallow me whole.

The concept was interesting. It was like an adventure movie with those claustrophobia inducing passages but the twist of philosopher's stone p!ssed me off 🤷🏽
