Fragrance

I will go to a different world

Where there will not be

Any single person in between.

I will lose myself

In the woods that are

Lovely dark and deep.

The promises that are to keep

Will loosen themselves from the branches,

Fall one by one like raindrops.

Pristine white drops of flower

Lie on the earth

Surround the tree.

The scent of rain soaked earth

Will enchant the forest.

I am running

In between the trees

The sky hidden between

The canopy of leaves.

The sunrays playing hide n seek.

I am on a swing,

You come from behind

Cover my eyes.

" Who am I?"

You ask.

"The one with soft hands"

I retort.

You pick up

A mud soaked pink flower

And put it on my entangled hairs.

Playing with mud wearing those

Expensive clothes!

The leaves start to murmur

The trance is over

Was it all a dream?

I look for the flower in my hair,

It is not there.

"Come once again.

Tell me it is not a dream."

I murmur silently.

I look around

Find nothing.

But my whole body is

Emitting the fragrance of that flower

The familiar yet unfamiliar fragrance

That marks you

Wherever you go.
