True pak drama has changed and have brought more variety and I don't mind given the audience is huge

They can't just keep showing the same dialogues sitting in drawing rooms and bedrooms in every drama

A lot of money has gone into the industry and now they have a global audience

India Pak Bangladesh Nepal Malaysia middle East countries Afghanistan turkey all watch pak dramas

Every drama doesn't have to be about a social message as we all watch for entertainment

Being an indian drama watcher since childhood 1999 till 2013 and then pak drama fan from 2014 till now I have seen everything from both the worlds and I m so thankful pak dramas even though are a bit more loud colorful and dramatized ones are still different than Indian dramas

I am having mixed feeling towards yumna after her saying haya is her fav character and being fine with the slap and saying murtu isn't a grey character. haya is such a one dimensional plain character and the slap was so illogical and against murtasim's character. Murtu might not be as bad as feroze or danish's characters but he definitely is grey shaded. His sense of superiority and the way the feudal system is imprinted on his mind makes him grey shaded.

How can the director say murtu fell for meerab after slapping her? So does some husband's beat the shit out of their wives so that they can fall harder for their wives . That was dumber and more illogical than Sandeep Reddy vanga justifying kabir and preeti's relationship. In his defense he atleast showed both Preeti and Kabir slapping each other out of love. 😆

Now i appreciate the director of mere Humsafar for cutting out two slap scenes from MH.

I don't mind actors doing flawed or grey characters but the makers or the actor shouldn't try to justify it. Penn Badgley openly admits his character in YOU is problematic and toxic and asks people to not root for him. Srk acknowledges that some scenes he has done in the past in romantic scenes were problematic, prithviraj openly apologized for playing problematic roles or uttering anti-women dialogues in the past.

Why do some feel the need to justify toxic and problematic characters? Just own up to it and say it was required for the show and they don't feel it's okay.

Yumna was asked which is her fav character, she first said Meerab, then Murtasim and then Haya..I think it was because Haya is a negative lead here and she wanted to give equal importance to the three leads.

Yumna saying Murtasim is not a grey character.....I was really dissapointed with hee on this.

I just hated director's IV. His thought process is misogynistic. He was blaming Meerab and sympathising with Murtasim. He even said Murtasim has no obligation to explain his decision to Meerab because he loves Meerab so much Meerab should blindly follow what he says. Meerab not following him is her character flaw 🤪🤪

Robert Pattinson shaded the writer of Twilight when he was promoting the second movie. He said Edward is a a creep and no girl should fall in love with him. Also, the writer is creepy to make a girl fall in love with someone like Edward.

An actor or director should do every role but don't justify the problemetic stuff.

Murtasim's mother was equally rude to her and was forcing her to be a certain way. Maa begum should have known meerab and her thinking is not suited for her son and her household. She has known her from childhood but she cared more about the property meerab owned and then wanted her to magically change her personality and be submissive.

Meerab clearly didn't dance to create a scene or disrespect anyone. She was happy seeing those people dance and wanted to join them. It's maa begum and murtu that made a huge deal out of it. Why would a household that thinks dancing is bad calls dancers to their functions? That's so stupid and dumb. She wasn't even doing western dance and Pakistan also has a culture of dancing at the wedding. Meerab didn't deserve murtu's wrath or maa begum's slap.

Also just because a guy is nice to a girl doesn't mean he is entitled to her affection and love. He isn't doing any ehsaan on her by being nice to her. Thata his basic decency.

From what I have seen of Yumna, watching her interviews, the girl is talented but has a very simplistic approach towards everything. I hardly doubt she'd have a complex viewpoint about this whole slap discourse. The director should not have taken her name, especially on such a critical topic. With the kind of reservations she has, I am still processing why she accepted this show. Upar se this!
