One thing is quite clear, both the writer and the director come from a misogynistic mindset. And it was only the actors, who have tried to make it as less 'toxic' as possible. Wahaj has acknowledged that they have 'tried' to keep him as less toxic as possible which implies the original script was quite problematic.

Even the pool scene was better the ipkknd one which was in office and quite unrealistic

It's a very long IV. I am not mad about the future track. I just found the director's thinking very regressive that way he talked about Meerab's character.

According to him Meerab should be thankful that she has Murtasim in his life. The problems in Meerab's life is self created by her. He is totally team Murtasim......kind of justified the slap scene and said "woh thapad Meerab ko nahi, Murtasim ke dil pe pada tha, he falls in love with her after that".

It's not Murtasim's character but this stupid justification by the directors is making me mad. He is a flawed character, why is it so difficult to accept it??

PS: Wahaj was against the slap but Yumna wanted the slap scene.

I am having mixed feeling towards yumna after her saying haya is her fav character and being fine with the slap and saying murtu isn't a grey character. haya is such a one dimensional plain character and the slap was so illogical and against murtasim's character. Murtu might not be as bad as feroze or danish's characters but he definitely is grey shaded. His sense of superiority and the way the feudal system is imprinted on his mind makes him grey shaded.

How can the director say murtu fell for meerab after slapping her? So does some husband's beat the shit out of their wives so that they can fall harder for their wives . That was dumber and more illogical than Sandeep Reddy vanga justifying kabir and preeti's relationship. In his defense he atleast showed both Preeti and Kabir slapping each other out of love. 😆

Now i appreciate the director of mere Humsafar for cutting out two slap scenes from MH.

I don't mind actors doing flawed or grey characters but the makers or the actor shouldn't try to justify it. Penn Badgley openly admits his character in YOU is problematic and toxic and asks people to not root for him. Srk acknowledges that some scenes he has done in the past in romantic scenes were problematic, prithviraj openly apologized for playing problematic roles or uttering anti-women dialogues in the past.

Why do some feel the need to justify toxic and problematic characters? Just own up to it and say it was required for the show and they don't feel it's okay.

Hahahaha! Just saw a clip where the director says the shawl was written in such a way that whenever Murtasim flexes it, Meerab is allured towards him. Astagfirullah, acha hua aisa kuch nahi hua show mein. Imagine karke hi khauf aaya 🤣

Coming to what the director said regarding meerub bringing it on her

It's partially true given she herself let her fall into those situations

It's not as if murtasim was dying to marry her

She said yes first and then she walked away from the wedding and made him sign

She was very rude with murtasims mom unnecessarily

She showed attitude while doing the panchayat work which is considered respectful

There was no need to dance on the walima

She did

Murtasim kept her Izzat

He even fought with his mom for meerub countless times even when she was at fault

Even yumna said in intview her own mom is team murtasim and she keeps on justifying meerub to her mom

Then again I don't mean to say meerub should have been differently written

Iike how it's not a typical male and female characters

And hence people r going crazy

It's not about being a sexist or a feminist

Siraj ul huq has directed many female centric dramas too like mehram and Yeh Raha Dil

It's not like he is partial to the hero's character
