It would be interesting if they added another layer to Viaan. Maybe he could have liked someone before who really messed him up. So his actions towards Katha and his casualness to intimacy could be explained that he is no stranger to having positive feelings for a woman but the last time that happened and he acted on it with the intent to make things work, the wwoman ended up messing him up. Perhaps, with his father’s betrayal, he may have thought that perhaps his father wasn’t good. He abandoned his family and didn’t stand his ground against a younger woman. So he must have thought that if he did the right things to a woman, he would be different. He would meet someone he loves who loves him and he would treat her well. Only that he met a witch who damaged him and left him completely cynical to women and put him on a moral pedestal to all females. Because even though viaan is intelligent, with his childhood and all, it wouldn’t have been weird to be kept to himself and be naive about a lot of things. What if the Viaan we see now falling for Katha had fallen for someone else in the past and is only more mature in his dealings because he had been dealt a heavy hand?
