I was thinking Garima would've figured Manav's dish because he works under her. And w/o a doubt, Priyanka's dish should've been figured out based on the elements' ka presentation. Aruna was annoying as hell throughout the episode. Hate to say it but Swarna was tad better than her today -- like minimal blabbering and only goof up during masala recognition challenge. 🤣Originally posted by: Raina101
So I finally watched the episode.
While the judges weren’t seeing them cook, Priyanka’s dish was signature Priyanka, they would’ve figured out in an instant.
Anyway coming back to the actual contest - clearly Aruna, Gurkirat were supporting chef Manav, Sachin and Nayanjyoti were supporting Priyanka. The rest were more or less neutral. Suvarna and Shanta spoke in the bts, while they didn’t speak in Priyanka’s favour they weren’t against. Deepa was a little more on Priyanka’s side.
Aruna seemed to be maska lagaofying the chef! She came across as very evil - not wanting another to win the immunity pin.
I thought the chefs dish was nice, something I’d order in a restaurant, but that’s just because I like milk based desserts.
Priyanka’s dish had a lot of elements, but isn’t that what Chef Vikas was looking for last week? When Suvarna and Priya had three elements he kept pointing it out that elements were less, and now that Priyanka gave seven elements, he was still not happy.
I’m not a fan of too many elements on a dish, but the chefs comments that how much proportion of what to eat with what, was non sensical. Everyone has their own way of eating, and that’s normal. Even if I gave you three elements you could eat as you please. For instance in chef Manavs dish - I would’ve eaten up the fruits first and then the kalakand, most would like a little bit of fruit, some kalakand and some jaggery sauce, so to each his own.
It was quite evident that they wanted Manav to win the challenge.About the spice smell challenge, I’m so surprised that Gurkirat only got one right. I’m no chef, but I’m sure most of us would get atleast a few right. I loved it when Aruna said Nayanjyoti would get least right and Sachin would get most right, but Nayanjyoti got maximum right while Sachin was in the bottom three. Also, Suvarna was confident she’ll have most right but thought chilli powder smelt like tea! It’s not even similar.
I wish they’d told us how many right each one got.
I never thought it would be so tough that nobody would get more than 10 correct! Shantas face when she was in the bottom was worth seeing!!
I think it’s not fair for someone to win the immunity pin tomorrow because that person will have it easy. Priyanka, Sachin and Nayanjyoti had to go through a series of tasks to be eligible to win it. If at all they wanted to give it to another - it should’ve been Sachin or Nayanjyoti, or no one at all. But well, the show isn’t really fair!
Coming to the dish, chef Manav's dish was fine but, as a diner, I would need a base to be frank. I'd probably stop after 1-2 bites because I think the judges said that it was bit too sweet or something like that. I like the spiced jaggery caramel but I felt dish could be bit better. The whole proportion consumption was exaggerated, tbh. 😆
I think Gurkirat was bit aloof in today's challenge. Nayanjyoti seriously is doing good so I was happy he shut Aruna's comment on the spot. Shanta's getting annoying like a sidekick or something nowadays. Frankly speaking, this easy pass to immunity pin via fridge challenge was stupid. So much for partiality.
