I LOVED the monologue, I am a sucker for simple lines with deep meaning. I HATED that it was his imagination.

Such a disservice to the viewers intelligence, the characters and the story to have pivotal scenes in imagination. All to stretch the storyline. And now he is going to be reduced to a buffoon when she is finally in front of him?!?! What a waste.
