The extent to which this show glorifies motherhood and places mothers on an impossibly high pedestal is anything but feminist; it’s dehumanising, sickening and the worst kind of victim blaming of the millions of overworked and undervalued mothers the world over.

The halo it places around mothers also serves to silence any and all disagreement/complaints one might have with their mother; because woh bhagwaan hai and can’t ever be wrong 🤪

Is this why, she keeps her hair braided?🤣since the day she become maa!. I guess as a mother, I am doing it wrong. I need to keep my hair braided in order to know if my grown kids are in trouble, now🤣. I must be a bad mother.🤪 But than again, I refuse to become another, Anupama.🤣. I have a life, a normal one.

THIS. This is everything. You hit the nail on the head. The glorification of motherhood is my biggest problem with this show. It's too much.

Maa maa hoti hai, maa kabhi galat nahi ho sakti, maa yeh maa voh. Motherhood is the most beautiful thing there is, nothing else matters, that's the only purpose for women and the only identity. Smh.
