I think chaskameter rankings also depend on the no of new posts on the main page. Not sure on this though.

Not sure. In that case there are forum pages of long running show I have seen, which have NO new topics/posts on main pages except for weekly TRP updation in one thread another in EDT, but they keep maintaining better ranks within top 20.

exactly! some of the IF rankings are downright weird considering there is no activity. the number posts and reactions should be the basis on how hot or cold a forum is.

I feel strongly that some members cheat the system and purposely create one post a day (such as for TRP or written update) in order to maintain the rating of their forum. however, it is all futile because no one even reacts or responds to those threads or even participates in those forums. so what exactly is the point? a forum is meant to be a conversation between different people. otherwise, it isn't a forum. 🤷

Not necessarily, it's a bit more difficult than that. New posts are good but you also need engagement to go with it, views and comments.

You can cheat the system but it's actually harder than it looks.

Older forums simply have baggage/history and therefore maintain higher ranks without trying. They tend to have more followers, even if those followers are not part of said forum or haven't been online in years, they count towards the final weekly total.

For example, #3 forum has 250 members compared to our measly 67, the difference being 183. If we had that extra 183 to add to our total, we'd be at rank #4 with the usual level of engagement.

Older shows, especially SP ones, cos of their past popularity get buzz coverage, irregardless of current engagement again.

That's free points for dead forums, new shows barely get any type of articles and therefore the system itself is absolutely garbage. It promotes the old and dead over the fresh new stuff and therefore we're stuck in a cycle.

Now IF isn't the biggest thing on earth but it can still generate some hype and intrigue/engagement if it actually cared to promote any new stuff, especially well deserving ones instead it's other way round. It relies on already pre-hyped shows with an existing fanbase to get more coverage/higher ranking and new stuff ends up in the ditch due to a lack of audience.

so even if people have abandoned the show, it would still look like this is a top show because they used to once follow it and haven't pressed the unfollow button. 🙄

takeaway: we need to forget about this rating system and just be happy engaging the way we engage.

Rate the CM daily. give reaction to articles and comment on them tagged with KA and try to add more threads

There are forums which have only WUs but they add daily one thread. We can try this formula

PS: CM rating doesn't actually matters, isn't it?

Yes and on top of that shows like Yeh Rishta, Ghum have practically daily articles which gets them an extra 100 to 250 points for free.

We can reach top 5 ish but with a lot of hard work if anyone wants to
