Lady chatterley's lover on netflix

Did anybody watch it?It's set after WW1 and is a love story between lady chatterley,a married upper class woman and a lower class man after her husband loses his ability to walk and perform in the bedroom and all affection and romance ceases to exist in the Lord and Lady's married life.

It has much nudity and sex scenes,which is fine but overall too it wasn't very interesting.

It is based on a novel by DH Lawrence which highlighted that sexual chemistry is as important as connection of the mind for a relationship to survive and thrive.The novel got published in 1924 and was tried for obscenity,and was pronounced not guilty.

The lead actor who portrays the biological female lead of the series was on a show to promote the movie and they showed clips. it looked boring and their chemistry with the biological male lead looked meh

I try finishing every movie or show I watch,emphasis on try😂 I could only watch this movie for a bit over an hour

I too thought the actors lacked chemistry

I was bored half to death, which led me to watch the movie on fast-forward. Such a shame because I love movies from that era. My favourites include Pride & Prejudice (film/BBC tv version), Jane Eyre, and North & South. There was so much chemistry between the main leads, which was lacking in Lady Chatterley’s Lover.

I didn’t feel the attraction between the leads, especially from the heroes perspective. Their relationship had no growth except for boinking like two rabbits in heat. I also don’t enjoy movies based on infidelity because half the time I was paranoid that they’ll get caught in the act.

I think the film Persuasion (2022) was much better. If you haven’t watched the film, then I recommend it. I could relate to the heroines ek tarafa pyar and nostalgic feelings she had for the hero. The guilt of letting go, the angst, ah I loved it.

I've seen a Malayalam movie adaptation based on the book. It was interesting they explored how the power equation changes once the leads marry.Seems like characters from 70s Malayalam cinema had a more active sex life compared to their counterparts from 70s Hindi cinema.

Through out the time I was watching the movie I was trying to figure out why the book was banned.

I am trying to read the book now.

Somethings like class conflict and the game keeper's first marriage were not explored properly. Had the social issues and gender issues been addressed properly it wouldn't have been boring.
