No titles :) Just refer the prompt number with each ficlet.

My poem is in my drafts, I will submit by tonight

You know how much I love writing contests, and I wouldve taken part in all three categories without you even asking, if I wasn't going through a real life crisis right now. I will definitely try to submit something for the short micro tales though, whenever I am in the mood to do so, since it's less time consuming.

When is the deadline? Do I need to PM it to you?

And can the detective be any made up character which is non-Bengali, or even an ITV character like Ram and Priya?

And it doesnt need a prompt right?

It's okay, Hina, I was joking šŸ„¹ā¤ļø Please take care of yourself first!

I would encourage you to submit and not be scared of writing, but I don't want to trouble you in middle of a real life crisis. If you think you can submit, definitely do so.

The deadline is 27 February, 11.59 IST. Yup, you would need to PM it to me.

If you want the detective character to be non-Bengali, you can choose it so (fictional or original). But the story should have some 'Bengali element' (eg. place, people, culture, food, practically anything)

Ram and Priya may not qualify as detective characters, because Ram is a businessman by profession and Priya is a lecturer. The detective character's profession should be be solving cases.

Nope, microtales don't need prompts. The prompts are only for ficlets.

Now you know why I had said YHM was a revenge thriller 🤣

Waise, didn't Priya lecture everyone around her? Then that made her a lecturer šŸ˜†

I hadn't realized this when I wrote my ficlet. I thought that amateur detectives (e.g. Miss Marple, Jessica Fletcher) were acceptable, so I put a TV character in the role of the detective to solve a murder.

I also thought that detective work had to be integral to the story, not like " "

Amateur detectives and consulting detectives are also detectives. Basically, if someone is picking an existing fictional detective character, that character should not be well established in a realm of work other than solving cases.

Other genres are accepted so that the participants are free to explore the lives of detective characters as a whole. Detective work is also fine.
