cricinfo’s team of 2023 u19 women world cup

https://postimg.cc/FfJ0vVjc

3 Players I personally enjoyed watching this WC the most (only watched few)

1. Shafali Verma - one of my fav batter in women cricket, it was a pleasure to see her bat in u19 wc and lead her team to the world cup. winning the first edition is something else.

2. Grace Scrivens - she is so cute, golu sa and carried her lion soft toy around, but what was more impressive is her all round performance in this world cup and even got player of the tournament. also led the team pretty well, and how they defended 99 successfully vs australia deserves huge appreciation.

3. Shorna Akter - watching her bat was so entertaining. she played in pure t20i style and even can hit sixes, (including a huge one vs australia).

she is the finisher bangladesh team needed and did her job almost all the time. personally i genuinely liked a bangladeshi finisher after such a long time (including male team)

I liked Shweta too. She played valuable innings and provided just what her team needed several times.

Also wanted to mention a bit about Marufa Akter , the young Bangladeshi pacer, she mentioned in one of her interviews that she considers Hardik Pandya as her idol.

Get ready for Ahmedabad tomorrow will be Decider.Kishan lucky that he is keeper in his last 8 innings he scored less than 100, if he play for other nation they left him from the team or let him bats at #9 .

Shaw wait his chance

Sorry for being absent for many days. 😆 Too busy. In between i went to watch the 1st T20 at Ranchi also. 😆

I like the analysis. I would like to mention few more players that impressed me. Prottasha from BD. Indonesia Captain Ni Luh Ketut Wesika Ratna Dewi (WHAT A NAME 🤣), Rwanda Captain Gisele Ishimwe . Loved these small teams especially Rwanda. Also according to many associate experts Rwanda were 2nd best team in the qualifiers behind Tanzania but qualied narrowly in the finals. SO there is more talent there.

And then it comes to the India B (UAE) and India C (USA) teams. Theertha Satish was good in the game vs aus. They need exposure and more matches. Sure would do well. Actually loved the Indonesian team the most the way they were dancing every time. 😆

And the Upsets. OMG. Rwanda beat 2 test playing nations in wi and zim. 😲🥳

Indonesia did zim too. 😆

Zimbabwe were made the proverbial mandir ka ghanta, jo bhi aaya Baja diya. 🤣

BTW something happened in finals that kind of jinxed the aussies. 🤣 Phoebe Litchfield , the potential aus captain of u19 (if aus did it like ind) posted a status with england in trouble and in the background the song was 'God save the queen'. 🤣

Soon after the song, Aus started losing it. 😆

For india, i think Shafali and Richa worked as a smokescreen. Shafali did fire but richa didnt. But all the major attention of other teams would be on these 2, In the background Shweta did the heavy lifting, by the time teams realized shweta is main threat, she was the leading scorer of wc. 😆 One more player that didnt get much time but played a clutch knock in finals Trisha was great. People expected a lot from and she delivered.

And a Major Thanks to Mentality Monster Neeraj Chopra for joining the girls and motivating them. 👏

I could not watch all the match (watched few actually) as the timings conflicted with my working hours, but followed the score for most. i also wanted to mention about rwanda too, new team(never saw them play in any male or female cricket team or even sports in this matter before) and they beat zimbabwe and west indies. certainly made the world cup more entertaining, the player that took 4 wickets on 4 consecutive balls 👏. rwanda also played very well against pakistan too and did not let them win so easy.

there this wicket keeper dont remember the name was so talkative and hilarious🤣 she was distracting the batters and her tactics kinda work

and about indonesia team i was pretty surprised to see them in this u19 wc like rwanda too. i did however know they play cricket, as i have friends who played with their female team players. indonesian people are hella entertaining 🤣 at my workplace they are the ones who will steal the show or make things entertaining🤣

for me i managed to watch almost all matches of bangladesh (ofc am a bangladeshi) the fact bangladesh is the first team to win the first match in a female u19 world cup ever is very special that too vs australia a team who dominated in women’s cricket world cup. they were very unlucky to miss out semis just cause of losing vs south africa (was a close margin too) , they also beat india in warm ups 🥲)

lol australia team always has a habit to make things extra hahahaha
