He accepted Bakhtawar's rejection with grace in the beginning and kickstarted her journey to freedom. That's a big deal and from that moment, I rooted for him. Maybe, they butchered his character along the way or he did something toxic but I haven't watched enough to know that.
I agree, from the promo, I also got the impression that they'll make Bakhtawar and Dilawar and endgame. It is ridiculous because if they wanted to do this then they could have added more scenes between Dilawar and Bakhtu and then Dilawar and Bakhtawar so that viewers may also start rooting for them. I recently watched a Chinese TV series
Cute Programmer in which the girl works in the software house of a guy in the disguise of a male programmer as the company does not recruit female programmers. The point where it is revealed that she's actually a girl, it was already established through many scenes that the guy cares for her a lot. The same could have been achieved through more scenes between Dilawar and Bakhtu in
Bakhtawar.
As for Ahad, I agree that he has done way more than Dilawar. Somehow, their triangle reminds me of the triangle of Rangeela movie. A childhood friend who does a lot for the girl and a dashing and rich boss who gives her a career. I want the same ending too and want the girl to choose the childhood friend over the boss.
