I actually have a feeling that Alia is going to be in a situation like Samiya is in….vaguely… in the sense, where at a higher level, she will realize she has no agency.
In many ways, phuphos entry and the scenes between the sisters and phupho is telling us that while the sisters are so disappointed that phupo didn’t do her bit to stop Samiya’s wedding, and in some ways we as audience was also hoping for that, actually what phupo has done is tell us all that in the end, it’s not about marrying the right or wrong guy according to everyone around, it’s about having agency, having the right to make the choice. In some way, I feel that this will also be the storyline for Alia’s love story. Where in paper Sheriyaar’s character is the ultimate guy but her agency is respected with Bilaal’s character.
As you can see I am totally loving this show
I also liked what phupho said. Samiya made her decision and whether it's good or bad she will have to face it on her own and if she needs her family then they are there to support her.
I guess Aliya will consider sheriyar's character because of his money and status as she keeps saying if she had enough money she would solve all of her father's problems. But even though she fights with Salman she is very much comfortable with him. Both physically and mentally. She kind of knows he will be there for her when she needs him. The way she don't even pretend she don't want his help when her car brakes down says it. She behaves as if it's his job to fix her car and he also thinks it's his job. 😆 They are more like frenemies than enemies.
I also like how the show don't make a big deal out of male-female interactions. Ali and Tanya are best friends and both their families don't make a big deal out of it.
