I have to say my feminist self is getting a high watching Viaan beg for forgiveness! But that’s the thing, any balanced individual will tell you a good grovel is very attractive in a man. When I watch a woman groveling, I want to hit the TV.

For me, it’s not that I don’t support Kathaa, I do,,,but I am fully on board to watch this Viaan man beg, cry and plead before she melts. So he begs, pleads but that does not melt her. Eventually she has to fall for his balanced side - the one that plays with her son,the one where there is no manipulation of any sort.

Kathaa is too righteous, she isn’t perfect!!

The story is the journey of how they become perfect for each other, he will bend by groveling and she will bend by falling

Just like being an arsehole isn’t a good thing, being too righteous isn’t a good thing either. Both have to give in a bit, and the other will make it happen for each of them.

I am as feminist as I can be, I have absolutely no issue in the ONS. In fact I love that she gives him no ghaas after the deed. But I give utmost importance to balance.

Tthere has to be balance. Frankly I got hajaar irritated during the confrontation in the office room scene, where Kathaa goes for a new job and Viaan is waiting for her. Kathaa begins to get very very upright and high minded in her dialogues to him. I was like end of the day, she is being very faultless and I am better than you attitude which is annoying me, somewhere. Then I realized the writers have done this on purpose to make us realize that it’s not that Kathaa can do no wrong, it’s that Kathaa thinks SHE can do no wrong. There is a difference. This is where they make Katha layered, just like they make Viaan unravel like a mad man when the truth is revealed.

The probblem is that viewers are trying to put characters, situations and their actions into rigid boxes. Wheras I think it is all grey and not definitive.

I watched the ONS scene again (which was very well executed by the way) Katha looked nervous throughout it. While Viaan looked like he was really into her. Now I don't know if that attraction existed before or it was just for that night.

Even though Katha was hesitant initially, I still wonder if she got into it eventually. They were in the room for 6 hours after all. 😆
