These idiot writers have forgotten about singhania's and maheshwari's. What has happened to all that wealth? Naira should have inherited a lot of property due to belonging to two such wealthy business families (If I recall properly the maheshwari's were hoteliers and singhania's are diamond merchant's like the goenka's) yet akshu here is living like a pauper and acting like she has no right over goenka's property, but then she's also not shown to have inherited anything from naira's side. It's silly showing akshu so poor when she should be a lot richer than the birla's.

maybe she doesn’t want to use it, she has cut herself off completely from the past, like ripping off the band aid in one go. And though she’s complaining about not having enough money, she’s happy with her son. Money is very important, no doubt about that, but living a simple life also has it’s own joy, working hard to make ends meet has a satisfaction of it’s own.( By no means am I saying it’s good to be poor and have no money and toil and suffer, money is important for health care, roof over your head, basic necessities)Though I also lamented that she has only 2 sarees, I really don’t mind, as long as you have something to cover yourself and your dignity, it’s enough.
