My comment on west validation wasn't coming out of hating RRR.. While it's commendable RRR won GG, hopefully it wins Oscars as well and get the recognition globally but stand by my comment that we need a credible award something on the lines of GG or Oscar in our own country so that we don't need west validation.. The actual proud moment would be if our country hosts the awards where global actors feel it's important to chase it.

There's credible cinema in India. Just mostly outside Bollywood.

National Award is limited to Indian cinema, but even that got hijacked by Bollywood.

Film festivals giving awards are a better bet to attract the rest of the planet. I don't think they have the financial backing though.

The ball is already rolling with Bollywood's financial hedging.

A slight shift to the West and other Asian countries regarding commercial movies ..

May be a more financially reliable audience to depend on by Bollywood.

Moreover, OTT is here to stay, and the boycotters could continue their dissent. 🤣

Agree.. Bollywood cinema is really pathetic! And we do have better regional cinema. But overall we still make movies that we don't want to show to our friends abroad😆 ginni chuni movies in a year only qualify.. like last yr it was A Thursday or RRR or Kantara.. that too sometimes are only appreciated by the limited audience who don't wear woke glasses.

Also agree National awards had some credibility before it got taken over by Bollywood cliques..

Agree..😆 I just meant that our country needs an award which have the stature like Oscars GG or BAFTA cary but still have some credibility. Is Janam mai to shayad nhi hone wala.

Somewhere in middle 2004-2007 I was like the nominated movies are not anything I enjoy. I became quite disenfranchised with them 😆 my favorite movies during these times Wedding Crashers, Super bad, Team America and Napoleon Dynamite.They aren’t winning any awards 😆

See what these awards have become be it Oscars n GG.. that's why despite being glad RRR getting the needed recognition it doesn't bring that level of excitement like it would have been in early 2Ks..
