What I feel is RG as the lead, needs to realise that her character is increasingly appearing like a buffoon and totally out of sync with reality. In contract, SP has somehow ensured that his character gets moments of redemption and appears human once in a while regardless of it being completely against the audience's wishes.
While I'm aware that the final decision making lies with CVs, there is a certain amount of influence you have as a senior actor and also as the lead of an extremely popular show. If at all she cares outside the delusional fan club, she should put in a word....
Nahi re, even old experience actors today are not allowed to interfere with story and screenplays. Its mostly depends on PH and the rapport actor shares with it. Some PH are decent to take active feedback from actors but some are totally against it. Rajan shahi seems to be in latter category.
I have few friends from entertainment industry and trust me if i say that today entertainment industry works like some mafias. PH and channel are the main goons and nobody dares to go against them. To an extent they will take feedback from actors. Actors can decide on what to wear, what makeup to have, how to give reaction may be but other than this little gestures no one cares.
Character arc, development these words are not even understood by makers these days. An itv show is like a factory. They have target for each day's production. They will come, shoot those scenes and then wrap up. They dont bother about quality, acting profession, or logic, entertainment in general.
I have heard from my friends that most of the time actors dont even know what scene they are going to shoot today. Literally there is no screenplay or script sometimes and actors are just given dialogues 10 minutes before shoot. So their creative feedback is not possible in such environment.
And as I said rajan shahi is not known for taking care of his actors or contributing anything positively to storyline. We all know what happened with paras when he opened his mouth about his character development.
And senior actors like RG must be charging atleast 50k+ per episode. Who let go of that much amount of money just for creativity's sake.
It happens in our normal life also. Many of us are stuck in jobs which we hate altogether but still continuing it because of good money and because its not easy to follow passion and start from zero. We all have our own problems. So actors are same.
I have read in many tv stars interview that a point comes when their character just stop making sense and even though they want to quit but since they dont have anything to do they continue it just like a employee in a 9-5 job company. Only those who are willing to take risk leave the serial in middle.
